I write this review as a brand new player. As a matter of fact, the last time I played a WRC / Rallye game, the year was 1998 and the Colin McRae Series of WRC Dirt had just released for the PS2. I think it was the PS2. I absolutely loved that game. I played it over and over beating it more than a dozen times. That game taught me how to listen to a Rallye driver's co-pilot and what the terms meant. Thank god, cuz this game throws it out at you.
In March of 2026, EA, Kushner and the Saudi Gold firms decided to shut down Real Racing 3 after 13+ years of running and picking up a massive cult following of passionate racing and gaming players. RR3, in my eyes is arguably the best all-round racing SIM, game, "free-mium" game that has ever been developed. Bar-none!!! The game has everything...except for a rally theme and or game play. I did quite a bit of research to find this one. At first I found it on a steep discount, then the discount went away. Then it was back and then gone. I looked up the pricing index on this game and realized it was on-off every 2 or 3 days and it was simply a matter of time when I could get it for less than a can of Coca-Cola in 2026. Today, Mother's Day 2026 was the day it went back on sale for 90% off. SCORE!!!
I started the game after a good solid 2 hours of Portal 2... ironically...and my first modern online Steam gaming experience was amazing. The steering and environment sensitivity is solid and close to what I expected with dirt, gravel and tarmac racing. The engine sounds and co-pilot instructions were even better than the directional sensitivities. The set-up details and walk-throughs made things inviting and learnable. This game is solid. A perfect first-timer or if I could say, that game that's the threshold for 90s and 2k-er gamers who are always looking to that gaming experience we had back when we first picked up games like Gran Turismo. I'm going to enjoy this...I'll even write another review as I either finish or progress. Just to see if my experience translates in writing over time.

It's an arcade rally game with every basic functions you would need for casual play, one of the better entries in the WRC series.
It's an overall flawed game but for the asking price on sale it is worth it.

So good!
Awesome game for the price. Its outdated yeah but it gives you that dopamine boost and good feeling when you play. I recommend this heavily to someone who is looking into progressing as fast as they want and learning step by step on how to play a car game.

I genuinely think WRC 7 is one of the most underrated rally game in WRC franchise. It doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves.
The biggest improvement over the previous games is the handling. The cars feel much more responsive and enjoyable to drive, making every stage feel rewarding while still demanding precision. It was a noticeable step forward and made me enjoy the game much more than its predecessors.
The scenery is another highlight. Whether you're racing through forests, mountains, villages, or narrow countryside roads, every rally has its own unique atmosphere. The environments may not be the most graphically advanced today, but they're still beautiful and do a great job of capturing the feeling of rally racing.
I know the engine sounds received some criticism, but honestly, I think they're pretty good. They might not be the most realistic compared to some other rally games, but they've never taken away from my enjoyment and fit the experience well.
My only real complaints are the lack of a photo mode, which feels like a missed opportunity considering how scenic many of the stages are, and the limited options for customizing the time of day and weather conditions before a rally. Having more control over those settings would have added even more replay value.
Overall, WRC 7 deserves far more recognition than it gets. If you're a rally fan, don't let the mixed opinions put you off. The improved handling, enjoyable stages, beautiful environments, and fun gameplay make it a rally game that's well worth playing.

A very good game but also a lot of bugs, okay maybe I'm complaining about a game that was released in 2017 but the driving physics are really terrible but at least funny.
When we were playing with friends, we tried to start a multiplayer game for an hour because the start button didn't work for one person, and when it did work, it didn't work for the other person, but it is what it is
I recommend this game if you want to get angry xD
