the Game
GB Rober is a fast-paced, expressive 2D action platformer. Shoot, jump and dash your way through stages full of deadly robots and even deadlier traps. Defeat your bosses, take their weapons and use them against your enemies!
Fight for a world, where Bosses, Landlords and the concept of private property are only a distant memory. Fight for the People!
Choose your path!
Every Boss needs to go, but the order in which they have to be removed is totally up to you. Will the elusive Vintage Prospective go first? Or will you choose Retro Schwan, the most evil and conservative boss of them all? It’s your decision!
Take their powers!
Take your bosses’ tools and use them against them! There’s no limited ammunition in GB Rober, so use your weapons as much as you like!
Push back
Get stronger the more you get hurt! Charge up a meter by getting hit, or by destroying enemies and spend it to heal yourself, or to exchange it for a gigantic damage boost when you are on the brink of death!
Change the system
GB Rober features a plethora of gameplay modifiers and assist options. Change the damage enemies do to you (you can even increase it, if you really want to), change how much damage you deal, change the way stage hazards work, or just remove all enemies from the game!

In the sea of porn and multiplayer game recs sometimes Steam recommends you something new. This microplatformer looks the part of a gameboy megaman game and plays a lot more smoothly with a double jump and dash (for reason by default the game has it to where it freezes for a frame upon killing an enemy but this can be turned off). The major strength of the game is how well it transports gameboy platformers to the 21st century this is also the major flaw of the game as it is very short and easy to cheese. There are some modern conviences like damage modifies, infinite lives, and a story mode, but the design is very chaste and doesnt use the power of modern systems like other indie games do. If you are a stickler for value then yeah its about 2 hours for 8$ which isn't great but on sale its definitley worth it. For me the price tag was worth getting a solid dose of retro platforming. Final score: 7/10

A love letter to Mega Man except much shorter and much, MUCH more forgiving. Unless you're playing with modifiers to make the game harder for you, you get infinite lives and a fair amount of checkpoints each stage. The game takes 1-2 hours to complete depending on your skill level. (I'm average so I died quite a bit, but not to the point of getting frustrated.)
Since this is a fast-paced platformer, the game "feel" is probably the most important thing here, and GB Rober nails it. The controls feel really good, and the gameplay mechanics, while simple, provide enough variety to keep you entertained.

The Mega Man series is very loosely themed around rock music. GB Rober is the punk version. The tempo is quicker, the chiptones are crunchier, explosions explodier. Even the story is relatably punk, about a rebel robot sick of working for the Man.
Speedrunners should especially take note. It's a quick game with interesting movement options and a risk-reward mechanic that lets you blow through bosses at critical health. (Please do read the in-game manual, though, as the nuances aren't explained elsewhere.)

Started playing this in the Demo and it led to the purchase of this game. This is such an amazing game that I found very enjoyable to play. The level design and challenge was just right and I see playing this game over and over many times. Pick this game up and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

fast paced action, great visuals and music, finally taking down some bosses and landlords.

A retro inspired platformer that plays like mega man but is fun and a pleasant experience if you want a short but quality game to check out during a day at home.

A really enjoyable spin on the classic Mega Man-esque platformer! Movement feels really nice with the addition of both a double jump and a dash while still feeling really deliberately paced in levels to keep you on your toes. Also has just absolutely gorgeous visuals, the color palette for this game does wonders for the overall visual design! Just a delightful game to fight landlords and bosses in. Plus, has a ton of options to tailor the difficulty of the game to your own preference, whether that be a harder or easier game than it defaults you to. All in all, highly recommended.
