Upgrades and downgrades from the first one. The comic book aesthetic is cool, and there are cool new characters. No Deadpool, X-Men, or Fantastic Four, so Gwenpool takes over in this game to replace red bricks with pink bricks earned by completing her short but fun missions. This game has the most annoying enemies I've had to fight in a LEGO game, but the variety is cool. Character customization is cool because you can make ten super fast invincible characters if you want. Fast swimming, acrobatics, and other abilities are unavailable for custom characters. They give you different shield options but removed Captain America's abilities from custom characters. It's annoying that you can't skip the intro every time you start up the game as well as the ending screen after every mission, excluding character cards un/locked. You can't destroy vehicles as easily as the first game unless you use a strong character to pick them up and throw them. I don't know how a 4x4 counts as a van, but whatever. Flying's not the best in this game out of all the LEGO games, but it's pretty solid. The game has some issues, like roughly half the achievements being locked behind paid DLC, but it was a fun journey. RIP Stan Lee; once again, he's a cool character with multiple abilities.
tl;dr: Play for fun unless you hate achievements locked behind paid DLC. RIP Stan Lee.

This is game isn't "bad" by any means. Though compared to the first Lego Marvel super heroes, this kind of sucks. I only bought the game to begin with due to the fact that I'd played the first one. So far I have only been able to complete the first two levels and wonder around the open world for a moment before leaving the game out of boredom. I'd say this game is worth getting if you're a fan of Marvel, especially the Guardians of the Galaxy (Which personally I am not). If you're just looking for a new Lego game, or you've completed the first game and hoping for more. This really isn't worth it

It turns out that a potential reason this game seemed to crash my computer WITHOUT a blue screen of death was because of VSync trying to render thousands of frames per second. And since I couldn't adjust it while in windowed mode, full screen at the full resolution of my monitor allowed me to fix it. And it seems to work now, without crashing. It ran just fine before and it still does.
PROS:
The game itself runs fine enough on my hardware
CONS:
Crashed my computer every time I played this game in windowed mode, not even with a blue screen of death.
Also.... I got this game along with nine other LEGO video games for a combined total of $15 (due to an off-site deal). What other games did I get in that deal? Lego DC Super-Villains, Lego Jurassic World, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 1, Lego Marvel's Avengers (which isn't connected to this game or Lego Marvel Super Heroes 1 despite releasing between the two, instead being an adaptation of six MCU films from Phases 1 and 2), The Lego Movie Videogame, the Lego Movie 2 Videogame, The Lego Ninjago Movie Videogame, and Lego The Incredibles. I remember calculating the full price for all of those combined being $230 and even the cheapest of them are $20 at full price, so getting nine of them for $15 was an amazing deal.

So many characters. Lots of easter eggs referencing the comics. Overall, it's a blast to play.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Review
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a blast for anyone who loves Marvel or LEGO games. It's packed with fun and has something for everyone, whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart.
Gameplay: 9/10
Playing LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 feels like a great mix of old and new. You still get to smash things, build stuff, and solve puzzles, but the game keeps things exciting with its huge open world and cool storyline. You'll travel through time to places like ancient Egypt, the Old West, and a futuristic New York. Each character has their own unique abilities, making the game feel fresh and fun.
Graphics: 8/10
The game looks really good. It captures the spirit of both LEGO and Marvel perfectly. The worlds are colorful and full of detail, and the characters look just like their blocky, adorable selves. The cutscenes are especially fun, mixing humor with action in a way that keeps you hooked.
Sound: 8/10
The sound in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is great. The voice acting is spot on, with many characters sounding just like they do in the movies. The music is lively and fits well with the action on screen. Plus, the little sound effects, like the clink of LEGO pieces and the swoosh of superhero moves, add to the fun.
Replayability: 9/10
You'll keep coming back to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 because there's just so much to do. With over 200 characters to unlock, tons of side missions, collectibles, and a huge world to explore, you'll never run out of things to keep you busy. The co-op mode is a big plus too, letting you team up with friends and family for even more fun.
Overall: 8.5/10
All in all, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a fantastic game. It combines everything you love about LEGO games with the excitement of the Marvel universe. Whether you're a die-hard Marvel fan or just looking for a fun game to play, this one is definitely worth a try.
