Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a cinematic adventure game filled with action-packed platforming and creative puzzle-solving. Armed with only a Magic Marker, Max must confront evil at every turn in a hostile and fantastical world in order to save his kid brother, Felix. Fortunately, the Magic Marker has the power to bend the elements and create magic objects that can help Max on his quest.

I was hesitant to buy this game due to the mixed reviews, but I'm really glad I did. It captures that nostalgic platformer feel, but adds a fresh and creative twist with the marker mechanic. The marker brings a whole new layer to the platforming experience, making the gameplay much more engaging. The game also features stunning visuals and a distinctive art style that complements the overall experience beautifully. This game is a standout in the platformer genre, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of gameplay. I'm having a great time with it and I truly believe it deserves a much higher rating.

This is a solid game... I played the original (which is not necessary to fully enjoy the sequel), and "Curse of Brotherhood" is a considerable improvement. The better graphics was to be expected - but the developers also changed up the mechanics a bit - for the better. Most significantly, the player no longer needs to ration and recover ink - which was rather annoying in the first game. I also appreciate that the checkpoints are rather frequent, so getting killed doesn't ever require more than 15-20 seconds of replay. The developers and designers knew what they were doing, and it shows. I played this game through for the first time in about five hours. That may seem a little short, but this isn't a $50-60 game, and I can honestly say I enjoyed those five hours. Also of note, I played the game entirely with a keyboard and mouse with no problems.

During the time of review, I have completed this game and replayed certain chapters to attain 100% achievements.
Story: It has simple plot and is silly and charming at the same time. Not a lot of lore or elaborate one.
Graphic and Presentation: This game looks charming and clean. The environment is designed in such a way that playing each levels in chapter does not feel repetitive or boring. Enemy design and contraptions are placed in such a way encouraging players to think beyond the game mechanism.
Game-play mechanism: I love how the controls are simple. The most interesting part which i think is the USP for this game that's the drawing mechanism. Using environmental elements as contraptions and creating a room for thinking how to utilise them to defeat enemies and solving puzzles at the same time.
Overall experience: I really enjoyed this game as it brought back memories of playing classic PlayStation platformers with new elements and adding certain charm to it. I highly recommend this game.

This game is incredible, with the story, gameplay, visuals, and puzzles all super fun. The gameplay is super unique, and the level design is very clever. I also laughed a lot, (mainly from comparing this game to Max and The Magic Marker), and the entire experience was a super fun one. The animations in the cutscenes also are pretty good 2014. Overall, I'd rank this game 10/10. Not because it's the #1 game I've ever played, but because I had fun playing it.

Very Mild Recommendation (On sale YES, regular price NO)
The idea of the marker is good, but in the end, it's just a prop. You don't have any freedom to place items as you can only draw in predestined spots. I enjoyed the game for the most part, but as it got closer and closer to the end, I enjoyed it less because of the "chase" scenes where you had to draw very quickly. Sometimes you would get a pause for drawing and sometime not. Graphics were pretty good, especially considering the age of the game. There are times when this game slightly reminded me of Ori and the Blind Forest. Since both games have some relation to Microsoft, I wonder if there was any carry over from the teams that designed the games.

Trailer looked good and was on sale, so, bought it, and glad I did that. It is so good, simple story, easy - moderate platforming, and fun skills. A sure recommendation.
