SPECWAR Tactics
A friendly state at a geographically significant point in the world has fallen into chaos, with terrorists and insurgents taking advantage of the confusion to take cities for their own and destabilize the region. Take command of a NATO special operations force to provide assistance and help the country take its territories back and restore stability to the region.
SPECWAR Tactics is a simple game that lets you build up your ideal special operations team and send them off on operations, utilizing stealth, CQB tactics, and fire and maneuver to overcome numbers.
Features:
Use both the simple and advanced movement and command systems that let you maneuver your soldiers just the way you want.
Customize your soldiers, utilizing multiple different spec ops units with their own specialties, to create your perfect special operations team.
Manage your soldiers’ trainings and upgrade your facilities, steadily improving your means to upgrade and improve your fighting force.
Utilize stealth, flanking, and suppression that allow you to overcome greater numbers through superior tactics
Fight on missions that feature both open environments that require infantry tactics to get past, as well as more condensed interior environments for CQB action.
Note:
Though I didn’t set it as early access, I do intend to continue to fix/improve the game and add some more content after release. If you try my game and you encounter some issues, bugs, or just had some thoughts and feedback, feel free to pop in the discord and let me know! Thanks

Hi,
Update: (Forgot to mention this earlier)
Tutorial was made good as well. Immediately made the game easy to understand.
Update2: Turns out I am dumb. The game mechanics for switching level height are Q/E.
Found out after talking to the dev. He was great, helpful and nice in reaching that conclusion. Also he recognized the fact that it was not properly in place in the tutorial if I missed that. (UX-design). So props for the dev!
Not one for writing negative reviews.
First the good stuff:
Game concept --> Great
Game graphics, good for price range.
Game stability --> better than expected.
Now the stuff that (in current state on release day) makes this unplayable:
- First mission I went on --> was a ship boarding and I could not see into the ship. So I had to send in soldiers without looking where to send them. And worse--> once I managed (with alot of effort) to get 1 soldier below deck I found that even when a soldier is on the deck below viewpoints do not change. Ergo something is not going as it should?
So yeah, in current state I cannot recommend this. Honest opinion here says that this game should have released (or stayed if it was) early access. This is not a finished product.
To end on a positive note: I honestly think the developer (based on the 1 only other review here) and him answering that and they way he did it, he/she will actively improve on the game. So I will come back a couple times to see if it improved. If it has my review will be amended.

First off gonna start off that this game isn't perfect. It was made by one dev but was honestly done extremely well. The game has lots of mechanics that I always wished were together and it came out quite well. Even though there's only about 8 Special forces units in the game it is definitely outclassed that each of the units have the unique nations camo, which I love about it. The small details. You can tell the heart and soul went into making a lot of the parts for the game but I thoroughly enjoy this game.
Also to add, the developer is working well with everyone to snuff out a lot of the bug launches. So good for him!

Something to keep in mind this game was made by one person and this is the first game they ever made.
With that being said this game is very good for the price. Yes their are things that need improving but the great thing about the dev he listens and is actively trying work with community to fix the issues.
If you like military strategy games I recommend giving this game a shot

It's rough. A ways off from the level it could be but, it's still a really cool game imo, and has a feature set I've been really dying to see in a game. But it crashes a fair bit and has bugs.
The GOOD:
Really cool feature sets that basically let you run your own GWOT. similar to a mount and blade over world, you have an aircraft carrier that you can navigate around, and find target you want to hit. Theres also a fairly simple simulated economy of the fake country your operating in, and more stability to the economy means they can afford more security, which also helps you win the war. It's like the old breach and clear games but with A LOT more inspiration from the more modern Door Kickers series, with the troop movement and stuff. I'm really impressed with how many different things Applesauce incorporated here.
Then there's all the different management stuff, training your guys, hiring on new people (permadeath for them too), purchasing equipment for them, upgrading the boat, upgrading your helicopter, researching gear, finding targets, and maybe more. None of it is very in depth, but there just so much that it really does help get you wrapped up in the campaign and adds an XCOM style of depth.
The BAD:
Animations are pretty janky, the graphics are quite low quality (not that graphics matter THAT much) but worst of all, is the controls, which are fairly buggy. Sometimes your character wont move and you need to unselect then reselect them to issue a command they'll respond to. And the path markers get SUPER cluttered, making it really hard to make precise runs effeciently. The game world also doesn't seem all the large, only a few points of interest on it. And then there's the crashing which f'd me over a few times, losing a fair bit of campaign progress. Always seems to happen on the campaign map.
The MEAT AND POTATOES:
If you like Door Kickers, and like me, have always wished it had a deeper campaign mode, this can give you a pretty good taste of it.. but its not nearly as polished as DK. It does feel like an early access title, with very basic menus and UI, and an experience that feels like a first version, waiting for more content or DLC, but sadly, I highly doubt anything is coming (seems ultra dead, which is a shame). But, still well worth the 10$ price tag imo, and I think its a hidden gem in the milsim/tactics game genre, that if nothing else has some really unique campaign mechanics I'd love to see adopted in other games in the future.
And as a game made by one person (I think), it's a pretty awesome project.

Great game, honestly lots of fun and potential to really be polished into something memorable. Would recommend, however be warned the game crashes frequently later in the game.

Brings back the memories of Breach & Clear of Spec Ops genre. The vibe reminds one of the newer ARMA series, and for a one person developer that is an achievement! Here's looking at you Bohemia Interactive, revamp your ARMA Tactics (which crashed and burned miserably), this SPECWAR Tactics dev is a gem! Looking forward to future updates!

Great little game to kill time on. For a single dev game I think its great for what it is. Its not perfect but a great game to pick up whenever you have downtime.
