I thought that after so much time it would not cause that delight as in childhood, but I was very mistaken. Great game.

at first you'd be like "oh nice, a game for kids with funny animals", but then you realize it's about pain and suffering

As someone who played Crash Bandicoot games over and over again in the past, I can tell you that this remake delivers exactly what I wanted. The platformer retains the same demanding and punishing challenge of the original games coated in a polished modern sheen that makes even the most familiar levels feel fresh. If you’re ready for a quick trip to your childhood, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy doesn’t disappoint. The developers stayed true to the series and did a good job satisfying our nostalgic cravings.

It's a mixed bag but overall a completely fine way to play these three classics.
Aesthetically, the vibe of Crash isn't quite right and overall worse, but this has no bearing on the gameplay and the rest of the art direction is fine. The PS1 voice acting cast is simply better but the devs deserve credit for getting the PS2 voice actors back, which do have a cult fanbase.
I'd actually say that Crash Bandicoot 1 feels better to play here than it did in the original PS1 game, as the remake uses a standardized game engine between the three games. It's a remake that isn't perfect but does very little that is wrong.
My biggest criticism is that considering the length the devs went to recreate the game's systems and functions instead of simply porting the original game's code, it's a waste for them to not come up with a few original levels.
In general, it is baffling how in an industry as greedy as this, devs will routinely develop whole suites of creation tools and then not do anything with it anymore after a single game.

Had fun with all of the Crash games and this trilogy is really well made and I feel they really stayed true to the franchise and games.
Crash 1:
This game is by far the hardest and least forgiving, you have no powerups or skills which means it's just pure platforming. This was the only Crash game where I could start raging a little bit since some of the levels are very punishing and rely on you hitting your jumps exactly right.
This is worse when you have to do time trials and only get 1 life to speedrun through the level. Still a solid game but still maybe my least favourite.
Crash 2:
This is my favourite of the bunch. The difficulty is just right and you don't get punished just as much as in Crash 1 because here you get slide you can turn into a jump and later in the game running boots which help very much in terms of speedrunning levels and just introducing variety to the game.
The new levels bring a lot more variety and look way better so it's a huge upgrade in my opinion.
Crash 3:
This game is a little too easy in some aspects and I feel like there were too many skills you get when progressing the game for no reason than just because.
The levels are the nicest looking by far from the games but since there are so many skills introduced during the game I feel like the levels got kinda downgraded in terms of gameplay. The game also is way too easy when you unlock the bazooka and don't even have to get close to enemies anymore.
Still the time trials were a good difficulty but I feel like the developers got a little bit too lost in the sauce with this one.
Really good trilogy and if you have played the Crash games you will probably get a lot of nostalgia from this.

SHORT REVIEW : this is simply one of the best remakes ever made. Crash Bandicoot is the history of platform games on consoles and they managed to recreate all the good things of the three main games without ruining any single aspect of the gameplay. A must-have for all video game lovers.
> Gameplay ( 8.9 / 10 ) : the gameplay is the same as the original games, where you have to complete each level and defend the bosses of every area. Movements are fluid, the game has good performances and I've never found bugs, frame drops or crashes. Each level can be completed multiple times to gather gems that need a good ability in platforming and relics with time trials.
> Story ( 6.5 / 10 ) : the story in this game is really basic and a bit fun, where the protagonists have to fight the bad guys to save the world from their crazy minds. Each character is particular and funny for sure, even if they're not very detailed in their personality.
> Aesthetics ( 8.8 / 10 ) : amazing work has been done in recreating the exact same levels, same objects and same characters, keeping the same humorous caricatural style. The graphics of this game is really and there are pretty visual effects, even if sometimes models and textures of minor objects lack of details.
> Audio ( 9.0 / 10 ) : beautiful job also with the audio system. The same old songs and sounds have been remade with the best quality, giving the same vibes and feelings while playing. Still are missing some ambient sounds if you want to play without music.
> Difficulty ( 8.2 / 10 ) : there are a lot of challenges in this game. Completing the basic level is quite easy, but if you want to get all the gems and relics you have to sweat a lot and lose hundreds of lives if you want to get everything. Beating the game at 100% is not only for completism but also part of the game where you want to overcome your limits and challenges. However, some parts look like they're intended to be more frustrating than funny.

I hate this game so much and totally recommend it to anyone. It's proof that Satan is alive and walking this earth because the devil made this game himself. 10/10 addictive and fun.
