CHARACTERS
After losing his parents to a plague, the disappearance of his older brother, and suffering an injury that left him hobbled, Otto feels as though the wheel of fortune has tossed him aside and left him to rot. When his sister, his sole remaining family, is inexplicably kidnapped, this retiring and passive youth decides he’s lost quite enough and resolves to take his destiny into his own hands.
From the scorching deserts of Casper comes this wily and free-spirited adventurer, hot on the trail of a series of kidnappings she’s been tasked with investigating. When her path crosses with that of Otto’s, the two team up in the spirit of mutual interest. But the appearance of such a stalwart ally seems almost too good to be true; just what other motivations does she harbour behind her lovely face and disarming smile?
A certain incident in a magical forest thrusts the presence of this adorable, disagreeable creature into Otto and Switch’s reluctant company. Living for thousands of years has granted Echo a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, but extracting anything of the sort past her dismissive and haughty personality may well prove to be an exercise in futility.
Probably born to be a teacher, Otto’s sister Bronwyn decided from an early age that her goal in life was to give every child in the isolated valley where the two siblings reside a proper education. Being kidnapped has thrown a considerable wrench into these plans, and being separated from her younger brother, the apple of her eye, has left the usually altruistic and patient young woman in a foul mood that she won’t hesitate to visit upon her captors.
A cruel and capable warlord from the harsh northern steppes. A successful military campaign has placed the land of Byron and its long-suffering people in the palm of her hand, but also left her unsatisfied, existentially bereft, and quickly sliding into indolence and hedonism. The stage is set for this slumbering beast to be roused from her stupor, but who can say whether good or ill will come of it?

Really surprised me how much i enjoyed it.
Pretty basic plot (about 6 hours to finish), but characters and art are where it really shines.
I also enjoyed the dialog and writing, the characters feel human and it doesn't feel like a drag going through the story.
Definitely worth the time. And its free.

20th Steam Review
Playtime is how long it took to get 100% steam achievements.
This kinetic visual novel follows a miller on a tense journey to rescue his sister, abducted by a black knight on a dragon. In an odd twist, the knight leaves behind a sack of gold equal in weight to her boobs—a quirky moment that thankfully doesn’t overshadow the rest of the story.
Surprisingly, this turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable read. The characters are engaging with great chemistry, and the writing keeps the narrative tense and compelling throughout. The stunning artwork and atmospheric music elevate the experience, creating a world that feels alive and immersive. While there’s no voice acting, the game’s mood shines on its own and might be better for it.
At the unbeatable price of free, this short yet gripping visual novel is absolutely worth your time. With a playtime short enough to enjoy in an afternoon, I recommend giving it a try—you might just be pleasantly surprised.

I like visual novels and this one was no different. It was the first time I (played? read?) a VN that had NO choices whatsoever. Queen Beast is 100% linear and you don't get a say in the matter. I'll admit, I wasn't into that at first, but the story and characters and were good enough that I accepted it. I also like the art, especially the nude CGs ;). Too bad this game didn't have sex scenes, especially since there are 2 lesbians in it, but oh well. I'd recommend it if you just want a nice story.

Queen Beast is a high fantasy visual novel that starts off as a straightforward story of a guy on an adventure to rescue his sister who was kidnapped by a mysterious figure. Later on, the story begins to gradually shift from its bubbly self to taking itself seriously with some unexpected twists more mature tone, and character-changing revelations.
Storytelling:
The writing is immaculate that sucks you in by your toes to immerse you in the worldbuilding which is full of mystery and richness scattered throughout the story for you to engage with to discover. It is so immersive enough that you may want to spend all day or night reading it. It's that good.
Tone:
Queen Beast can be quirky at times with many subversions of expectation used as funny gag jokes, but it also knows how to drastically shift tone to a serious one when the times call for it. This is probably one of the more mature visual novels I've played. The first thing is not answering every question at once. The ending is a little bit open-ended of what's to come next.
Secondly, by showcasing the aftermath of what happened after the main threats are dealt with, life sort of goes on but instead, most of the main characters who had gone through a traumatic event are now going through long-lasting change which is much different than the child-like hopeful self they started in this game. It can be quite depressing to witness how much they were scarred from the journey they had taken part in but I respect the story writers for going in this direction of character development that's more mature and grow-up than I'm used to.
Animation and art:
This game is so appealing to look at thanks to the gorgeous background drops and cool character design doing a good job reminiscing the 80s/90s fantasy anime aesthetic while having its uniqueness like witty facial expressions.
You wouldn't think a visual novel would have an animated fight scene but it is cleverly implemented here with character portraits clashly and swinging with each other in an intense swordfight with the music in the background and sound effects to make the whole scene come to life on its own simply.
Conclusion:
So yay, if you couldn't tell I highly suggest you play this game, you will certainly be surprised by it. Lastly, hands off to the team who worked on this game. I wish there was a donate option on Steam because you all deserve it or there was a DLC pay to support this game. You lot truly deserve it, hopefully, that's an option when the next story of Queen Beast gets released.
