In Wild Dogs the world is under a frantic alien attack. Amidst the chaos and with the army virtually subdued, the deadliest and most inconsequential pair of specialists are called upon to do what must be done.
Join the war hunting aliens around the world and in every way possible.
A few days before the “Biolab Wars” protocol is activated by the army, Major Frank “Pumpkinhead” Williams and his partner Teddy are summoned to the front lines.
Authorized to use all necessary methods, the pair will explode, run over, crush and smear themselves in a lot of alien goo.
- Major Frank “Pumpkinhead” Williams: A man of few words and lots of action. Weapons specialist and natural pilot. He speaks more than 42 languages just mumbling.
- Teddy: A cheerful Labrador and stealth expert. A legend in the Wild Dogs kennel.
Blast through 5 scenes full of aliens. Use all available resources such as motorcycles, cars, helicopters and others.
- 2D platformer with classic and varied mechanics;
- Shoot in 8 directions;
- Pilot planes, mecha and everything that is within your reach;
- Most bizarre and varied boss fights;
- Rain bullets with varied and powerful shots;
- Switch between multiple color palettes.
Whether human or dog, it’s time to shoot!

Another home run from this 3 person dev team. If you enjoyed Savage Halloween or Biolab Wars be sure to check this game out.
And there's so much variety too. Yes there's the run n gun stages but there's also a vertical shmup stage, a horizontal shmup stage, a motorcycle stage, a boss fight that reminded me of King of the Monsters for the neogeo, hell even a NES battletoads turbo tunnel stage (with checkpoints).
Yes the game is kinda hard but the caveat is that you get 5 hits per life and 3 continues as well as a save file so you don't have to restart at the very beginning every single time. Just stick with the homing gun, you'll be fine.
Achievements are fun and a straightforward 100%, just beat the game.
A few small gripes like the stages are really long with I think 3 or 4 mini bosses per stage is a bit much. Would've preferred just more numbered stages but thankfully at the end of each scene is a checkpoint so it's really not that bad. Another thing is the enemy bullet speed is too fast for my taste (think Contra III snes hard mode). And finally, while there's multiple color modes to select from which is great, there's no actual colorized version. Not a huge deal though.
I had fun and that's all that matters!

I got hooked with this developers run & gun games after playing thru Savage Halloween, then BioLab, and now Wild Dogs. All 3 are excellent, but Savage Halloween is my favourite with Wild Dogs being a close 2nd. Great run & gun action, tight controls, great pixel graphics and chip-tune music. Challenging gameplay but certainly doable. There are so many bosses, most of which are huge, fill a large part of the screen, and are awesome to look at and fight. Definately are great addition to the Run & Gun genre. Keep up the good work!!!

I want to love this game for its retro feel and look. I want to love it for its varied stages going from a run and gun to a side scrolling shooter. I hate it for its overly long levels and its insane difficulty spike ala Battletoads, be warned
