Although it's heavily inspired by Hidden Folks in terms of game design and overall approach (which is really unique and probably one of the best in the genre), this is still pretty nice and enjoyable game with its own charme and great UFO atmosphere.
So if you liked Hidden Folks this one is a quite decent alternative.

Not only was I looking for aliens, but I found some!
If you enjoyed Hidden Folks, then you will enjoy this game. I have seen a few games now try and copy Hidden Folks, but they usually fall short in the graphics, sound effects, and just plain fun. This game has all the polish that Hidden Folks displays, and also just as much fun. Many of the objects on screen are interactive, just like with HF. I have played for 3 hours now, and I still have plenty of levels to go.

Looking for Aliens:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am absolutely dumbfounded by what I’ve been seeing on T.V. in the last 25 days! It’s probably due to the fact that we had a massive thunderstorm, and my satellite dish was zapped by The Almighty. The next day, I was on the roof repairing the dish, and finished just in time for the evening news. I turned on the T.V. and started watching . . . the Space News?! What on earth is that? At first, I thought it was a joke from the network, but the 1st of April is two months away! I had somehow managed to connect my dish to the Alien News, and it turns out that not only do Aliens have news about Aliens living on Earth, but they also have their own survival and escape shows; it's just crazy! I have since been looking for Aliens everywhere!
Looking for Aliens is a casual point and click puzzle/hidden objects game developed by Yustas Games Studio and published by Alawar Entertainment on the 9th of December 2021 on the Steam platform.
The game consists of 25 levels, each of which is preceded by a humoristic introduction from the galaxy's best newsreaders and reporters.
I had a lot of fun playing this game. Essentially, you have to find a certain number of different characters and/or objects, displayed in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. You also have a special character or an object that will be displayed more than once on each level. There is no time limit in this game, which is fabulous, but you must find a specific number of characters or items to unlock the next level. The first few maps are pretty small, and will be done and dusted swiftly. However, as you progress through the game, not only will the maps become larger and larger, but you'll also have more Aliens and objects to find. With nearly 8 hours of gameplay, I still haven't found all the characters, objects and collectables. Yes, in each stage, there is a U.F.O. card to find.
I really like that you can interact with most things on each level: cars, doors, trees, plants, characters, etc. It's super fun and highly addictive. In fact, you need to check everything to find this U.F.O. card, represented as a flying saucer icon. If you find all characters/objects on a level, you'll be treated with a fun, additional animation. You'll start seeing horizontal lines in some of the levels when you hover over the area with your mouse. You might think there is a bug here, but it actually signals to you that the area is hidden, and you have to find a button by moving objects around the edge to unhide it.
As I briefly mentioned above, the humour in this game is just fantastic, and I had a good laugh when Sean, a poor human being who the Aliens abducted, turned out to be the one who nearly wiped them out of the galaxy by becoming Seanzilla while attempting to escape their base!
The Artwork is simply stunning; colourful, and a pleasure to see! The soundtrack is just superb and will probably remind you of old 1950-60 movies U.F.O. themes. And the sound effects are spot on! Everything in this game gels perfectly, and most importantly, I haven't encountered any issues at all! Regarding the settings, you can set up to play the game Fullscreen mode or not, turn off the music and sound effects if you decide to, and the game has been translated into six languages so far.
Positives:
~~~~~~~
+ Great artworks
+ 25 levels with 250 hidden objects/characters to find
+ Humoristic introduction before each level
+ Fun, easy to play and highly addictive
+ Seanzilla is a cracker
+ Achievements
Negatives:
~~~~~~~~
- No trading cards as yet
All elements of Looking for Aliens gel together perfectly, making this casual game super fun and highly addictive!
9/10
I'm lowkey sad I finished this already :(
This has obviously taken inspiration from Hidden Folks/Hidden in Time but this is definitely my favourite out of all of those.
If you love hidden object games with slight puzzles involved (that doesn't require a genius to do) then you'll love this.
The ONLY thing I can complain about is a few of the levels I've had to restart them because it's saying I haven't got all of the items (mainly the things you gotta find multiple of from the bottom left corner). I wish I wrote down which levels it was, because I see the only negative review for this is saying exactly that. I suck for not noting it down D: Doesn't deserve negative over that though anyway.
Artwork is adorable 11/10
Pleaseeee make more of these, different themed ones, I would buy them all ♥
If you liked Hidden Folks and/or Hidden Through Time, then you will LOVE this game. It's more high tech, lots funnier, and seriously frustrating sometimes, but it is hours and hours of searching, pulling hair out, and downright laughing out loud as you look for aliens, sometimes disguised as humans, sometimes humans disguised as aliens, and bunches of other stuff thrown in. The developers are very clever with FX, usage of "holograms", lots of things to open, noises, etc., and it all adds to the experience. Some of the levels are long, some of them are short, and I think that's a good formula to keep one from getting too weary and bleary eyed. Well done! I think it's a great game and I enjoyed it very, very much.
It took me over 16 hours I think to finish everything. You can leave a world after finding a certain amount of items, and continue to another world. Then you can backtrack when your ready to finish. I think that's a great feature as some of the worlds are quite large and can take some time to finish. You can zoom in and out by using the scroll wheel on your mouse. The pictures won't always fit within your frame, so you have to drag with the left mouse button, up and down or side to side.
Looking for Aliens definitely scratched that "Hidden Folks" itch. Would recommend :)
Looking for Aliens is a challenging hidden object game with nice graphics and animation. It is a casual point and click game but some of the items or persons you have to find are very well hidden or in (near) plain view in busy levels with lots of similar items or persons. I've been playing one level a day to get the most enjoyment out of the game. Some levels are short and easy while others had me searching for 30mins for those last hidden items.
Each level has a certain item/person you have to find a bunch of and a selection of different items/persons you have to find each of which comes with a little hint. In every level there's also a hidden collectible card to be found, some of these are very well hidden but you can find 'sparks' in the vicinity that will tell you where to look.
