I enjoyed what I played of Vainly! It's definitely more of experience than a game but its message is well communicated if your along for the ride. I think the game is quite linear for better or for worse, I think for the story it wants to communicate its linear structure does make sense. The game has a charming sense of humor, stuff like running into a prisoner who's playing the sound track or the game saying it shouldn't be played is quite charming. Overall Vainly is a charming experience that leans into its philosophic roots and succeeds at doing so! I think the best lens to view the experience is as a expression of absurdism.
