Driftland: The Magic Revival
Driftland is a unique fusion of RTS, 4X strategy, and Sim genres in a fantasy world made up of scattered planet. Player takes on the role of a powerful mage-ruler capable of moving and reshaping parts of the planet. Both game mechanics and history are based on an innovative concept of dynamic topography and issuing orders to individuals with free will. In the face of the destruction of an entire civilization and life on the planet, warring parties decided to call a truce and tried to repair the damage. For that, however, was already too late. Using all the remaining magic resources to cast a powerful spell, they managed to keep their world in a relative balance. Many dark ages have passed, but when all seemed lost, a spark of hope shined once again: new sources of magic appeared and the whole planet began to give birth to new mages.

Nice graphics and plays good. It is fun game and there is much to play with different races if you want. Slow gameplay that let you relax. There is never stress in this game and it is very nice.

It was worth playing the campaign once. You will learn how to play the game, probably, from your second game. After that, game will force you to solve one puzzle(within its mechanics) in each mission. However, unexpectedly, I was addicted even though there is not much to discover after 2nd mission. Still recommended while discounted, especially for the ones that have Majesty nostalgia.

To save space I start with the verdict. I recommend this game.
Driftland is a very atmospheric game. Literally after all you're building your kingdom on flying rocks which you can connect with bridges. Reminds me of Majestic where you hired heroes, but you had almost no control over them. Similarly here in Driftland you have a more control of the economy while almost no control over your heroes.
For it's price it has a lot to offer, a magical world, whimsical music, even the drawings of the steam achievements are crafted with care.

Driftland: The Magic Revival is an exciting strategy game that is similar to the classic Majesty, but has its own unique charm of a fantasy world.
In the game, you will explore drifting islands, each representing a new territory for your kingdom. Unlock the fog of war to expand your holdings by drawing islands to your archipelago and building bridges between them.
Graphics, music and animations perfectly capture the magical atmosphere of the game, creating a unique experience. The mechanics of building construction and unit management perfectly combine elements of strategy and urban planning.
One of the amazing features of the game is the ability to tame aerial units such as birds and dragons, there is also an artifact system. Heroes can find and use various artifacts that give buffs .
Driftland: The Magic Revival offers an exciting gameplay that is sure to please both veterans and newcomers to the strategy genre.

The game is really cool, I keep revisiting it just to fiddle around with the islands.
It has a decent god-sim mechanics, however some extra sandbox modes would really spice things up.
The economy balance is quite good for short sessions, but once you want to stay on the map just to grow your empire the reputation impact of overpopulation hits you hard.
Overall, I recommend! Brings back some memories of Black & White but in a completely different universe.

### Driftland: The Magic Revival Review
**Rating: 7/10**
**Pros:**
- **Floating Islands:** Ever wanted to play God and move islands around? Now you can! It's like playing Tetris, but with entire landmasses.
- **Magic Everywhere:** From summoning dragons to casting spells, it's a magical buffet. Just don't try to pull a rabbit out of a hat.
- **Strategic Depth:** Balancing resources, managing floating islands, and dealing with rebellious units. It's like juggling, but with more explosions.
**Cons:**
- **Repetitive Gameplay:** If you enjoy doing the same thing over and over, this game is your jam. Otherwise, prepare for some serious déjà vu.
- **Limited Faction Variety:** All factions feel a bit too similar. It's like ordering different flavors of ice cream and realizing they all taste like vanilla.
- **Performance Issues:** Sometimes the game runs like a mage with a broken wand. Not ideal when you're trying to save your floating empire.
**Verdict:**
Driftland: The Magic Revival is like a magical sandbox where you can play God. It's fun, it's chaotic, and sometimes things don't go as planned. But in the end, it's all about building your empire and having a good laugh. Just don't expect a smooth ride all the way through.
