I might be one of the most experienced BP players out there, with almost 3,000 hours on record. After spending all those hours in different ways creating content, hosting servers, playing on RP servers like PointLife or StreetLife I can say with confidence that this game genuinely deserves more attention.
No, BP isn’t the prettiest or the most polished game. But it is an experience. It’s fully moddable, incredibly flexible, and, honestly, it has no real limits. The player base may look quiet today, but there are still people who want to bring it back to life. All we need is a few more players willing to give it a real try.
This game helped me during some difficult years of my life. It became a kind of home when I had none, and I’d like to give back even a fraction of what it brought me.
If you’re curious or want to talk with long-time players, feel free to join the BP Discord. Come share your thoughts, meet the veterans, and maybe give BP the second chance it deserves.

its an ok game and ok experience. its personally a bit unpolished and has got a long way to go. it makes me feel as if its trying to turn Unturned from a zombie game into a Dark RP game. and after watching plenty of Nylex's unturned life off of YouTube. its something i can get behind. personally, the base game lacks options, character, and jobs. the best you can get is gangster, cop, or medical. or a delivery person. and only when you get like 25k or so and have a place can you evolve into things like making narcotics and crap.
on the plus side, if you have a potato. you can definatly pick this up. but in its current state, without modding and some tlc from its community. its just a goofy, very punishing sandbox sim, trying to be a legit game. in a few years it may grow into something good. but that is only if it survives. and seeing its 2 years old. and hardly anyone left on its servers. i think that's appearing to be very unlikley. :( which is a bummer, cause id kill for a legit game that is like this.

A Rough but Ambitious Sandbox That Thrives on Freedom and Chaos
BROKE PROTOCOL is an indie open-world sandbox game that blends first-person action with role-play elements, drawing clear inspiration from games like GTA and Garry’s Mod. Instead of delivering a tightly scripted experience, it focuses on player freedom, giving you a city, a set of tools, and letting chaos, creativity, or routine emerge naturally depending on how you choose to play.
At its core, the game is about choice. You can take on legal jobs, commit crimes, interact with NPCs, role-play with other players, or simply explore the city and experiment with systems. There’s no strict narrative path, which makes BROKE PROTOCOL feel more like a sandbox playground than a traditional game. When played on active multiplayer servers, this freedom becomes its strongest asset, as emergent gameplay and player-driven stories take center stage.
Gameplay systems are intentionally simple. Shooting, driving, and interactions are functional but basic, prioritizing flexibility over realism or polish. Combat works well enough for casual encounters, though it lacks refinement, weight, and advanced mechanics. Vehicles are serviceable but floaty, reinforcing the game’s arcade-like feel rather than immersion.
Visually, BROKE PROTOCOL is modest. Assets are low-detail, animations are stiff, and environments feel sparse in places. However, the clean presentation helps performance and readability, especially during multiplayer chaos. Audio design follows the same philosophy, functional gun sounds, basic ambient noise, and little emphasis on atmosphere.
Where the game truly divides players is expectation. Those looking for a polished single-player experience will likely be disappointed by the rough edges, limited AI depth, and lack of structured content. On the other hand, players who enjoy sandbox experimentation, mod-like freedom, and community-driven role-play will find plenty to enjoy, especially considering the game’s small development scale.
Ultimately, BROKE PROTOCOL is not about finesse, it’s about possibility. It succeeds when players embrace its roughness and treat it as a creative sandbox rather than a finished, cinematic product.
The Good:
- High level of player freedom with open-ended sandbox design.
- Multiplayer and role-play potential create emergent gameplay.
- Easy to learn systems that encourage experimentation.
The Bad:
- Very rough presentation with stiff animations and basic visuals.
- Shallow combat, driving, and AI systems.
- Lacks structure and polish for players seeking guided experiences.

has a bug that causes the mouse cursor to appear and prevents me from being able to open up menus and settings. aside from that the game is fun up to the point when the bugs occurs. i tried playing and could only find one server out of dozens with people on it and i was not able to find them or get them to engage so the game still needs work.
