One of the first computer games I ever played with my grandma.
Now I play it with my kids.
You can't go wrong with all of the Humongous Entertainment games for young children. They just don't make games like this anymore.

"Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds" plunges players into an unforgiving underwater labyrinth that rivals the brutal challenges of Dark Souls. Each submerged environment is densely packed with intricate puzzles and elusive clues, demanding a level of problem-solving acumen akin to mastering the intricate strategies required in Dark Souls' toughest encounters.
Navigating Freddi Fish through the murky depths requires not only sharp wit but also keen observation, as every decision and discovery feels crucial to progressing through the daunting quest. The game's non-linear structure adds layers of complexity, urging players to explore every corner of the oceanic world to uncover hidden secrets and alternative routes essential for success.
Maneuvering through treacherous waters and outsmarting cunning sea creatures requires strategic finesse and split-second timing, mirroring the intense precision needed in Dark Souls' most challenging boss battles. "Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds" stands as a formidable test of skill and perseverance, offering a deeply immersive and relentlessly challenging adventure beneath the waves.

My classroom computer had this game on it in first grade. Anytime we had free time on the computer, I would play Freddi Fish and The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds. It's a colorful game that has you going back and forth through different areas picking up items and solving puzzles. Fun game that I enjoyed as a kid and even my kids have enjoyed, proving that it still holds up well today.

I first played this game on the family computer when I was like 4 years old, and even though I have aged a lot since then it is still a pure delight! A perfect little point and click game for kids!

Absolutely life-changing game, I now realize that the pre-Freddi the Fish era in my life was a dark age that I can only look back on with ignominy. From today onward I am a new man with a revitalized conception of the wider world. There shant be a day forward where the influences of this game will not guide the way I live the rest of my life.

I was looking for a game for my 6-year-old and found the Freddi Fish series. It's a traditional point-and-click adventure for kids with cute characters. She has enjoyed all games so far. Playtime is about 1 to 2 hours and offers some replayability because the quests and items you need to use are somewhat randomized each playthrough.
PS: If you can't find the option to set the correct language, go to your Steam library, right-click on the game, and set the language in the properties. Steam will then download the correct language files.
Also, in order to save or load a file, you need to press 'S' or 'L' on your keyboard (for QWERTZ layout at least).

I had completely forgotten that this game existed until seeing it on a forum somewhere recently and had a flood of memories from a kindergarten class where Freddi Fish was for some reason always running on a big dumb clunky PC.
Nabbed the game on sale, sat down and had a surprisingly good time. You'll easily beat this child's game in one sitting but it'll be a pretty enjoyable if not nostalgic hour and a half if you like simple point and clicks.
