Unmatched: Digital Edition
In Battle The Are No LimitsUnmatched: Digital Edition is an adaptation of a critically acclaimed board game where two (or more) opponents command characters from myth, history, or fiction in a battle for the ages! Have you ever wondered who would win – King Arthur (aided by Merlin) or sword-wielding Alice (from Wonderland)? How would Sindbad and his band of ne’er-do-wells fare against Medusa and the three Furies? The answers to those questions, and more, can be found with a quick game of Unmatched!
What is Unmatched?Unmatched: Digital Edition is a tactical game where two opponents command their Hero and their Sidekick(s) on a set battlefield. The rules are simple. The actions are within the contained decks of cards, and the replayability is immense!
- Each player has to perform two actions a turn.
- Actions are: move and draw a card, attack or play a power (called scheme).
- Attacking (and defending) and using schemes is done with cards.
- Some attacks and schemes can only be used by either your Hero or their sidekick.
- When your Heroine (or Hero) drops to 0 health you lose the game.
Every Hero (or Heroine) has their unique ability, movement characteristic, and total health points set. The sidekick(s) can either have their own health pool or be weak one-hit-KO chaff (and probably can be resummoned to the battlefield).
What makes Unmatched great?Unmatched is one of those easy-to-learn games with an incredible amount of depth. The tactical insight and knowledge of your (and your opponent’s) Hero will determine the outcome of every fight. The individual games will be quick – but they will all be different as well! The greatest strength of Unmatched is its tactical depth – your decisions will be crucial – and the randomness factor is minimized and can be controlled further with players’ skill.

An incredible game, I was very intrigued with this game (and Im still), the rules and the abilities of each character. Even the soundtrack of the game is awesome. Although I couldn't understand how to attack at first, then I realised that the rules are simple. TIP: read carefully the cards and the instructions (especially in the tutorial) how to perform different actions (Attack, defend, scheme and maneuver). You can also watch some strategy guides on youtube so you can learn better and become a better player. The only problems are that a)I have read from some users saying that Jekyll and Hyde is not a good character in this game, I was a curious because he is one of my favourite characters, and his abilities, strengths and weaknesses are very interesting. I think that you have to be very careful on how you change personalities when you play as Jekyll and Hyde due to the fact that when you play as Hyde if you maneuver then you can lose health. b) The prices are a bit pricey (No pun intended), I think it could be a good idea if there were some bundles (yeah I know that there is the season pass but I have a different suggestion) like Cobble and fog bundle (like in the physical game in which you can get 4 characters, Sherlock Holmes, Jekyll and Hyde, Invisible man and Dracula and 2 maps, Soho and Baskerville manor),Robin hood and Bigfoot bundle (the 2 characters which I just mentioned and two maps, Yukon and Sherwood forest) and perhaps a skin bundle or 2 skin bundles (80's skin bundle and contrast skin bundle or just a skin bundle with the 4 of them).
Now If you love board games, strategy games and If you love iconic characters such as Sherlock Holmes then I recommend this game. But you have to take into consideration the price of the game and the dlc.
P.S. Better wait for a discount if you want to buy the game (and the dlc) like I did.
Also whoever says that Sherlock Holmes is OP I firmly believe that it is partialy true because although you can cancel the effects of the opponent's cards, when you are trying to guess the value of the opponent's cards you have to be very good at GUESSING. And yes I think that luck -Im not saying that strategy isnt important- plays a significant role in the game.

Its a good adaptation from the physical board game. Its fun and might be cool against friends. 3 out 5.
-1 points for lack of heroes (missing 30+ heroes still) and -1 for low actvity from devs on updates, bug fixing, adding heroes and pushing the digital version.
The board game is a 5/5 > if you are into fighting your friends for some quick fun.

I have a lot of the unmatched physical sets, and this is a great way to just get a match or two in when you can't get those pulled out. I have quite a bit of fun with this.

Great implementation of the board game and very intuitive controls if you've already played a physical copy.
