SOLE
Offering players a complex strategic challenge alongside a rich narrative featuring an alternative take on the 19th-century industrial revolution, Frostpunk weaves a story of how our planet mysteriously freezes, putting an end to civilization as we know it and forcing the human race to adapt to the harsh conditions. As the leader of possibly the last civilized society on Earth, you’re going to build the city your survivors live in, discover new technologies, explore frozen wastelands and most importantly, manage and rule society to prepare it for life in an unforgiving world. Whether you’re an enlightened ruler or an iron-fisted tyrant, you’ll discover choices in this world aren’t as easy as they seem, and that holding power over people has a cost as heavy as the responsibility you feel in caring for them.

A brief, beautiful journey through a dream-like world.
Best played alone on a quiet night, in the dark, with a pair of headphones on.

A little casual game with some minor puzzle elements of how to open doors into the next level. It reminds me a little of TIMEframe in that you are exploring a frozen landscape. With Sole you can grow trees & grass by passing next to them. It's a nice peaceful game to play when you want to relax.

This is basically a walking/flying simulator with some small "puzzles" that are really not hard. The visuals and music are beautiful. I actually feel frustrated at the size of the world, because there is SO much to explore and a lot of it feels copy-pasted. As an achievement hunter, I'm gonna feel the need to play again so I can get the rest of the achievements, but I'll take a break first.
This is the only game that's ever given me vertigo-- the mechanics are a bit clunky sometimes and the perspective can flip quickly, so beware if you are sensitive to this. I found the best way to play is in a dark room with blue light glasses.

A Journey/Abzo lite experience. Needs better optimization though as maxed it runs only at 30 fps at times and that is on an Nvidia 3080.

Encountered this game for the first time at Magfest January 2019 IIRC. Spoke with the devs and composer and thanked them so much for sharing this experience. It moved me greatly and is so atmospheric and immersive. A great short story, heavenly music, and plenty of secrets all create a journey that has plenty of replay value. I can't wait to play this game to the fullest extent. Do yourselves a favor, support these devs, and add this to your library or send it to a friend!

What an amazing experience! It is a MYST-like experience (that a game pre-dating JOURNEY which some in my chat compared it to) with a haunting (as well as breath-taking) soundtrack. I _highly_ encourage you to play this game as it does have re-playability. Give this game a go. You will not be disappointed.

A beautiful, introspective and relaxing journey of a game - highly recommended for fans of.. well... Journey, among others :-) Best enjoyed at night in a dim room with a good sound system to enjoy the gorgeous music!
