Very fun.
My friend bought it for me to play with him.
He loves this game.
But I'm different. I like him.

Haven is a horror game. Just kidding! Haha... ha... anyway -
Haven is perfect for people who enjoy visual novels. It also features something like a rhythm game combat system and movement tech that is frustrating at times. So really, unless you actively enjoy VNs, don't get this. You're going to be bored within the first hour.
I didn't mind the repetitive gameplay because I found the VN part of the experience utterly fascinating. I felt like an anthropologist. There is no better way for me to describe it because the story itself isn't particularly special, insightful, or meaningful, and nor is the dialogue. The fascination came from observing the relationship as written.
Just... wow. The utterly terrible communication the two protagonists have. The incomprehensible arguments that do not resolve in any tangible way, aside from the two crying and apologizing after Yu literally runs away and then almost dies. And they're so horny! Which isn't a problem, I actually found it hilarious, but there IS a problem when the writing uses it to show you that these people are in a happy, stable relationship.
Oh, and also? Try this game with two male or two female protagonists and something... just isn't quite right. The writer went for dialogue that is neutral enough to apply to every iteration and fell short in such a way that is impossible to look away from. I can't describe this with concrete examples, but unless you're straight and cis, you're going to feel it. I absolutely guarantee it.
The ultimate conclusion I drew from this game is that Yu and Kay are doomed to fail, and Haven tries its hardest to convince you otherwise. Do not model your relationships off of what you see in this game. Do, however, play this VN of two people who are in the honeymoon phase - and so very and tragically young.

This is another one of those 'I have a lot of mixed feelings about the game' games.
I ADORE Yu and Kay and their story, and by god I could gush about the gorgeous art they have for the load screens and animations, along with Danger's FANTASTIC music for days, but the actual 'game' part has many, many problems that make it difficult to fully recommend to people who want an easygoing experience (that this game states that it provides).
The combat is incredibly frustrating and clunky, and the movement (while slick) is finicky at best but most of the time is another source of annoyance (esp when trying to follow aerial flow threads). The crafting systems are set up in a way to seemingly deliberately waste your time as to need to slowly add individual items, then watch the animation of the cooking/crafting/touchpad, then slowly select the option to craft another one and repeat each time you want to make another item. I could rant more, but I don't want to be overly negative. Overall, I did have a decent time with it, just the issues did wear me down until I was ready to throw in the towel and not bother finishing getting all the achievements.
I make the 'positive' recommendation almost solely based on the story/characters, OST (seriously, buy/listen the soundtrack and put it on loop forever), and its art because the 'game' part could have used some more work/tweaking.

I love the romance between the main characters. Games like this are rare. Usually romantic games are otome or dating sims. So to have a game in this genre focus purely on romance is really cool to see. I don't know any other game like it.

This game is probably the best cozy game for couples.
Can also be played as single player.
Love it 10/10.

Looks great, the story is heartwarming. There's a Romeo & Juliet in space vibe here, sans the poison.
The hoverning mechanic can be a little frustrating & occasionally asks you for perfect precision with imperfect controls.
Combat is a simple turn based system with an emphasis in teamwork between the 2 characters. Sometimes combined strong attacks are most effective, sometimes you need one character to set up the other.
A reasonable amount of resource gathering & crafting for healing items (cooking) and combat buffs (through science!)
Approx 10-12 hours long.

Really loved this game because my partner and I is in a long distance relationship, we can't spend time in person so we make it up to each other by playing games online. Loved the coop feature where we can take turns controlling the characters and help each other out during combat. I'll miss playing this game like the first time I played it, knowing nothing about the story and ending. He's the one who introduced me to this game and I thank him for that. We might play it again if we don't have other games to play or when we're bored. I had so much fun that I decided to upload all my live vods on youtube, just so I can watch it again and reminisce the emotions we felt playing this game. Watching the game end left a gaping hole in my heart as I got too attached to the characters and I somehow relate to them in one way or another, but I'm happy that we got the good ending on the first try. I wish someday, my partner and I will be able to settle down somewhere in the world and just enjoy ourselves much like Yu and Kay on Source. Thank you Game Bakers for creating this masterpiece. May your future endeavors be fruitful!
