Jagged Alliance is back – With a new take on turn-based tactics, adventure elements and the well-known quirky mercenaries! Set 20 years after the first Jagged Alliance, this spin-off lets you experience a road trip into a jungle hell to test your mind and body to the limits! This time it’s just you and a few allies versus an entire island ruled by a drug overlord and his crazed army.

Good game but it's not comparable to JA2, it's not a serious and realistic game but it's fun
pros:
- Nice graphics, really pleasant gamma
- Squary landscape, quite original
- Funny voiceover
- Improved stealth mechanics
- Mercs suffer from everything which affects their perfomance
cons:
- Poor drawn portraits
- Always a turn based combat
- Loot is picked up from the ground (no sector inventory such as in JA2)
- Little amount of mercs
- Sometimes bugs happen, e.g. game freezes sometimes while skipping dialogs, so don't do that

I think the problem with Jagged Alliance is that since gamers experienced JA2 there has not been a successful redesign after that to match the original feeling. Very much like trying to replace Chester Bennington with Emily Armstrong. Then people say they want the old. Then they say they want something new. It is difficult. JA2 with a new shiny coat seems to be a dilemma.
To me Rage has a new modern feeling and yet carries some of the old DNA. The game is not as buggy as some claimed it to be in the past. Don't know how much has been rectified. I do feel a bit annoyed when enemies shoot me through cover. I just experienced one other bug so far where the game became unresponsive. The maps feel extremely small and a bit too linear.
The biggest bonus for me is that I can play it in Virtual Reality and I really love it because of that. Anything that could be VR'd I enjoy. So far it was quite an immersive experience. I will probably make 3D Youtube video so that others can see what I mean.
I miss the original effort that went into the character creation. This has been the same like with BIA. But it improved a little bit here. To me it still feels worth the time and I am excited to see what more it has in store. Hopefully not bugs. Fingers crossed.
