About the Game
INTRODUCTION
Prime of Flames is a special strategy game that combines Wargame and Roguelike. You will lead the warriors of different clans to find the truth of history. Each clan has its own unique playstyle and so does each class. You can recruit a beast army to help you, or build a huge Bronion Works, or even construct a magic field to defeat powerful enemies. Each fight plays out differently, so let your creativity run wild.
WORLD OUTLOOK
The ancestors once built a great and prosperous country in the Wilderness, and each clan lived and multiplied with the help of the ancestors. Until the day disaster came, the meteorite destroyed the world of the ancestors, while the demons, ghosts and orcs ravaged this land, and even the witches who sheltered Human broke their covenant and disappeared. As the guider of the former ancestors, you revived and arrived. In the name of Star Envoy, you leave for the Human camp, and lead the warriors of different clans with talents and abilities to find the truth of history and disaster…
FEATURES
- Plenty of unique encounters with varying terrain, enemies and challenges to overcome.

- Experience the story in stage mode, or face various challenges in endless mode.

A very fun, challenging and visually stunning rogue-like tactic RPG with an interesting story and lore. In this game, the player is Star Emissary, a figure revered by the various clans of the Barren who then travel with the clans through increasingly difficult realms to get to the holy McGuffin that will fix everything. There's more to the story ofcourse, but that's a good summary.
The greatest part of this game though is the blending of gameplay. The three clans that can be controlled are the Ninelies, the easiest to play, where each character can act and excel individually and can be upgraded further to become stronger cavalry units, the Bronions, the tankier clan with less natural damage output, but can fill the field with bombs, firing platforms and drones that will, with proper synergy, utterly destroy a battlefield (and not to mention that two of their units can merge to become gundams), and then there's the Evernight, physically the weakest but with the strongest ability that ranges from damaging domain expansions to outright stealth fliers and transforming warriors. The strategies that can be employed in this game is vast, and the replayability factor is extremely high. The continuous loop of finishing or failing missions, coming back to camp to buy permanent upgrades and taking on new expeditions to see what new wacky combination can be used to overcome the challenges is endlessly enjoyable. The fact that battles have different objectives and are filled to the brim with variety of enemies and bossfights also adds to the longevity of the game.
And the artstyle is straight up beautiful. The pastel colour sprite and the design of the characters are so well done, there is not enough praise for it.
Highly recommended. Well worth its price! Will keep playing again and again.

Pretty fun tactics game, not a super standout but definitive worth 10 bucks. Not super well balanced or deep, but that isn't necessarily bad. Idk about story I don't read but you can click through it so that is a plus for me.
I beat all 3 campaigns in hardest difficulty and completed an "endless" run and all races and classes within the race feel unique. Decent boss variety (but you can get unlucky with the same bosses between runs), but the mob maps get repetitive. I am conflicted on the campaign progression I.E. having 3 stages (each with ~8 fights) then 4, 5, etc as you move through campaign. It allows you to test comps and units without real repercussion, but I don't mind losing here or there. Out of all my runs I think I lost 2, and I was being brainless for a lot of the early chapters. But you can do a self inflicted iron man or nuzlock and it might feel right to you.

There are three clans, each who have their own specific units. Each unit is one of five classes. Warrior, Guard, Hunter, Scout, or Priest, and each class has 6 individual characters. This means you have more than enough variety to pick and choose who you like the most in term of play style. From feral berserks to people who punch bombs at the enemy!
