Kazakh Drive is a retro "driving simulator", where you are driving on the straightest road in Kazakhstan to deliver planks to your uncle's house.
I got this game as a Christmas present. Thank you for it!
The game looks great. I really like this pixelated retro styled graphics and the effect of the windshield getting dusty or full of rain is pretty nice, weather effects looks good. The base music in the game is pretty good, but you can add your own music files to the correct folder and you can listen them, while you drive. The gameplay is literally what you see on the page, and to be honest for me it felt boring, but to be honest it's challenging and tense when you trying to pass a truck from behind and you have no clue if you can pass or not. Also, you don't want to drive like a mad man, because you need to drive 80km real time with real speed, which made me mad a lot of time, but with some music, nothing is impossible. The controls are responsive, but I suggest you to just tap only when you changing lanes.
However, graphics wise the vehicle models are 2D, which is not a big deal, but because of that you can't quite see if you can get ahead them properly, and sometimes you just hit them on the side and you die. Also, it's pretty stupid when I die from the traffic behind me, who just ram me... I mean, come on it should have see me from behind. The music system is okay, but you need to change the tracks manually, which is not the easiest thing when you driving. There is no save feature in the game. The story is nothing interesting to be honest. Endless mode is about driving, but I thought you will have to pass cars here, too, but there is no car in it.
If I want to be honest, this is pretty good and it can be relaxing too, except when you trying to make a pass, but you need to accept the boredom when you driving... just like in real life. I can definitely recommend the game, even for the full price.

Eastern European Desert Bus
Story:
You play as Zhaldos. Your uncle has started building a house and he needs you to go and get some wood and bring it back to a construction site and so you being a good kid decided to help him and venture out on the 120KM journey.
That's about all the story you really get, it's a very quick backdrop to set up why you're driving such a long road and it's fine, nothing special, but it at least gives you a backdrop.
Graphics:
Visually Kazakh Drive is a very simple looking game. It's pixelated simulation of a road and it actually has a few cool gimmicks like dirt, night and day cycles, rain etc. There's not much variety, but the work put into it is quite fun, I especially like how when you drive on a dirt for a bit, it starts to muddy up the window and you have to clean it so your vision doesn't disappear.
The road itself is pretty boring, it's basically a long straight road and there's not much to break up the boring environments and I get that it's supposed to be a realistic driving simulator, but when driving from city to city you usually pass some landmarks, which I could feel make you at least feel like you're getting somewhere.
Audio:
Not much audio design to speak of. The car itself sounds pretty bad, very choppy, not like a real car at all, more like an chopped up crunched audio. There's a few tracks you can listen to on the radio, but I didn't like any of them, but what's a cool feature is that you can import your own music which is absolutely great and really made me dig this drive.
Gameplay:
If you heard of Desert Bus, then you know it was made as an anti-game. It was a simulation to test your endurance for a long ass road trip and this is a much more casual experience of that. You drive from point A to point B and try to rack up as high score as possible, one delivery being one point.
So let's begin with the driving. It works pretty fine and I actually quite enjoyed it, but it did take time to get used to it's very loose controls, it feels like the car is overly sensitive and it's easy to just steer yourself off the road and into another car which will kill you and then you're sent back to the start.
Also of course you can still get into traffic where the cars in front of you drive slowly and the passing cars come by super fast. It wound up getting me killed multiple times and I got frustrated fast, but I found that if you just drive on the dirt barely hitting the grass you can avoid oncoming traffic and pass everyone and once I figured that out, I had tons of fun, although there's not much here and apart from that one singular journey, I was done.
Verdict:
Kazakh Drive is a fine little experience if you ever wanted to experience an actual playable version of Desert Bus. It's a relaxing little road trip on the countryside, but there's not much value once you made your first trip, but if you like driving and want to try something new, I suggest checking this out.
Final Rating:
6.5/10
Pros:
+ Some cool visual gimmicks
+ Gameplay is pretty fun
+ Allows you to use your own music
Cons:
- Audio design sucks
- Car is a bit overly sensitive
- Will get tedious fast
- Not much variety in the visuals

This is one of the best games here on Steam. Scenario, game play - everything is just great. A lot of possibilities to discover, I've just started the game, but I already decided to spend the entire weekend playing Kazakh Drive for the sake of Uncle Eldos. You know, boards can't bring themselves on their own.
Best regards and ALGA
