"Witching Hour" is kind of like an indie horror game with an emphasis on puzzles that takes place in a farmhouse in the woods. I really liked what the creator did because the atmosphere is phenomenal and the story is decent. The tale, of course about witchcraft, is far from original, but the way it is told and the twists that occur throughout are very creative. The storytelling is definitely way better than 90% of indie horror games, but I wish the game was a little bit more vague and left more to the imagination.
The game play is mostly puzzles that can be half brute forced because they are so easy. Still, I enjoyed the puzzles and atmosphere. The only shooting combat is at the end of the game and it's terrible, but it's such a short sequence it doesn't drag the game down at all. I found this game very relaxing but also dreadful. It has an eerie, decrepit vibe, the music is dark and there is a feeling of dread and hopelessness pervading the whole thing.
