Mothlight
The unwanted are kicked into
the black sea…
… where they would
melt and harden into
a pure metal.
The metal was then harvested
and put to good use by the
common man.
From the most handsome developer ever…
Samu presents you with a new RPG experience that will
Blow. Your. Mind.
Introducing Mothlight. A game about exploration, weird stuff,
and exploring a world made entirely out of people. Literally.
WORLD
This world is different.
As people were kicked into the black sea,
their bodies melted and then hardened
into a pure metal called “Dreg Ore”.
Soon the ore started to clump together
and form islands. This happened more
and more until continents were made.
People who were kicked in fell on land instead
of in the water. And then boom. Civilization.
GAMEPLAY
Your main goal is to explore and thrive!
Gear up, get cooler armor and be more stylish.
Fight more bizarre bosses and find more exciting items!
The world is yours to conquer!
STORY
Neethan threatens Augus in a time most harsh.
Demons from the darkest depths of the sea are making everyone go mad.
The Apostles of the Deep Ones are manipulating powerful entities…
And Enzo is stuck in the middle of it.
Escape this hell and return to the world above…
…or be devoured by the eldritch abominations below.

This creator deserves a LOT more attention than they get. While it is an RPG maker game, the creativity shown is more than enough to enjoy it through every second. without knowing much of a background for the world it's an insanely interesting experience to try and piece together what you find. The uniqueness of the creatures and horrors in this game along with the soundtrack being something new to me lead the whole game to be an overall amazing experience. If I could go through it fresh again, I would. 10/10

its been years but im finally going back for another playthrough. from what i remember this was one of the most enjoyable experiences ive had in this genre. truly a hidden gem of abstract storytelling. I hope the creator is doing well, they've dropped off the face of the earth sadly

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Was unsure what to expect from the beginning, it's clearly a dark and gloomy setting. Borrowing itemisation and mechanics similar to Dark Souls- you venture through different 'zones' with the colourful and simple environments contrasting the black and white hand-drawn style of the various creatures and characters you will encounter.
Without spoiling anything, I will say there are themes explored I was not expecting, they may come as a welcome surprise to some offering a bit of an added edge and depth to the game- though it may jar some people a bit if you're not expecting it, just be sure you know what you're in for. I personally thought it added to the story more than took away from it.
Cool music too, I gotta say I was really feeling the vibes- whether struggling through the depths laying waste to monstrosities, or chilling in town smoking a cigarette with a television bumbling away at me in French.
I've paid money for a lot worse- this is free and I liked it. Give it a shot.

This game was like a mix of Giger and OFF. I suffered a bit at some points, but I think the game is still good. Also this game is a bit overrated in my point of view.

This is a hidden gem in a sea full of shitty quirky rpg maker games with some deep metaphor about depression or mental illness

Excellent little game! Why wouldn't you try it when it's free to play?
