Black Paradox is a fast-paced roguelite shoot 'em up. Unleash an arsenal of weapons, power-ups, drones, and other upgrades to survive waves of enemies, against a backdrop of vibrant pixel art and synth-wave soundtrack. As the infamous bounty hunter Black Paradox, travel through space and defeat the most dangerous criminal organization in the galaxy: the Hellraisers and its seven lieutenants.

It's repetitive, grindy and the upgrade and powerup system is a random mess but the game's core mechanics, amazing pixel art and upbeat music serve it well enough to hook you into beating it at least once before leaving this paradox to resolve itself in darkness.

fun game but takes way too much grinding it feels like to level up to where you can really get anywhere in the game.

Beat in 94 minutes. Why did I beat it in 94 minutes? Because I obtained the Swarm gun. The Swarm gun destroys bosses that are supposed to take several minutes each in mere seconds. I didn't even get a chance to look at the first boss' health bar before it exploded. Should I have been able to beat a fifteen-hour roguelite in 94 minutes? Probably not. Is it balanced? Definitely not. Did I enjoy myself? Hell yes. The music is incredible and I'm probably going to listen to this soundtrack a bunch going forward. The art is absolutely gorgeous and the color palette in every part of the game is fantastic. The character designs are super cool. The bullet patterns are beautiful and perplexing. Would I have had as good a time playing this repeatedly over the course of fifteen hours? I don't actually think I would. Get the Swarm. Obliterate everything.
