This game negative reviews should be revides because a lot of things people complained were improved.
As a fan of micro machines duels (with my brother) here are the pluses of this game:
+ several original levels (i think it is enough)
+ possible shortcuts to master
+ great music (it's a good idea to max the volume and lower the sounds)
+ each car has its own style of driving (people complain they are the same)
The minuses could be few weapons (Nerf sponsored, big mistake), no tanks (well shooting ones, at least) and sometimes unfair point giving (to someone who was off the track). And of course because of the negative reviews the online multiplayer is practically dead (it shouldnt be now with the improvements).
So I can only duel with my brother, which is still a lot of fun.

Micro Machines World Series looks modern compared to the older games of the franchise.
You still race top-down in micro machines over tables, wooden planks, waste papers, pool balls and lots of other large furniture.
The classic racing style that gave micro machines its original reputation is certainly present today, and a good thing!
Here's a gameplay where you can view all vehicles:
During the skirmish games, in which you can practice against AI or friends because luckily you can go online for that extra challenge,
racing against others is simply much more fun than against the AI.
Until you are level 10 anyway, from level 10 you only get access to Quick Play and here you can choose from three different modes: Battle, Race and Elimination.
In Battle you play games in two teams, such as Capture the Flag.
Race speaks for itself, here it's simply about getting to the finish line fastest and in Elimination you have to stay as close to the first car as possible and eventually finish first, the last one will drop by lap.
In Battle you can use certain skills depending on which vehicle you have.
For example, the police car can fire a shotgun, mark an enemy, turn on its siren or summon a police helicopter.
The fire truck can then deploy its water cannon, fire a water explosion, wield an ax and use a water cannon.
There are a total of twelve vehicles available, each with their own unique attacks, so plenty to try out!

This game's good fun with friends. All the cars are basically the same, not many special items, you play with AI, etc... Despite that it really is a decent little racer. Maybe just get it when it's on sale.

While the lack of local multiplayer for the normal racing mode is an issue, the rest of the game is hilariously fun. Lots of different game modes, a good few cars with different weapon sets and hilarious played online. Enjoying it, my kid is enjoying it too :)
Despite what some people like to claim, the game can be played offline.
Also, the top review along with another review claim you cannot unlock skins online and you cannot use skins online. That's just outright false and I decided to do a video to show that skins can be used offline and online:

I'm only really recommending this because I don't think it deserves such bad reviews. But it's fun enough, if all you want is a very simple racing game with a bit of nostalgia.

Small game reminding old times with old Micro Machines. Great stages, pretty competitive AI like in old one. Multiplayer is sadly dead. If you want to return to micro machines racing its pretty ok to get this game to do 1-2 races if you are bored from other games. Worth to get on sale. Lootboxes and cash for skins ruined this game cause made it abit too farming.

The game is beautiful to watch and i'm having a lot of fun. I love to play the race mode and even though there are no players online the AI opponents are very competitive in a way that makes you think you're play with actual people.
