I bought this game once Gunbound 2 was erased from existence on Steam. It fills in my Gunbound shaped hole in my heart just enough that it satisfies my needs.

I think as a big fan of Fortress, I really expect this new product. However, I have the following suggestions to the developer after playing for several rounds of games.
Cons:
* You need more advertising. Gamer community is very critical for this kind of game to survive. Currently, we DON'T have enough players to play. By the each round we have to have 4 players to each side which makes it harder to match. Maybe this number can be customized?
* Skills need more variance: I mean, the difference between LV1 and LV4 skills are only in numbers (attack power, etc). But we need more variance.
* Some tanks are totally useless: My feeling is some tanks are way much more powerful than others after trying all of them.
* Dead tank should be able to do something: When "tank" died in DDTank, the players are able to collect items and use it for teammates. I think it's better we can have something similar.
* Power skills needed: In some other games, we collect Power when attacked and we can use power skills to attack. The good side of power skills is, the enemies should consider their move carefully, not only attack, to win the game.
* Need better tutorial: I don't think the tutorial actually mentioned wind, SP etc. I think we should put more effort on tutorial.
* Communication between players: I expect in the future the players should be able to collaborate. However, for a game facing the global players, the communication is a problem. I notice mostly the players are Korean and Chinese.
Pros:
* Good graphic for first version: I think it's not too bad comparing with other games, e.g. Worms.
* Bring back the memory of Fortress V1.
In general, I think the game has great potential so I would still recommend it even though it's just "potential".

The product is great! However, there certainly are some very ill-manned, inconsiderate folks here who in reality certinaly deserve an ass-whooping!! I, as a Korean, feel a little bit ashamed whenever after getting acquainted with other Korean-friendly players from different parts of the world, ask me to verify what other shitty, inconsiderate Korean players were saying to them while playing online. I completely understand what the heck happened because I, myself, was a victim of harassment, taunts by my fellow Korean here and in other gaming sites and communities. Just because someone does not know your language and is not able to retort back to you in a snap, it does not mean that they are vulnerable retards, people!! It is so much easier to collect live evidence and present it to someone else for further scrutiny and verification.
Please folks. It is a game that we enjoy for entertainment purposes only! We can surely be civil and follow a certain standard of social decorum here!
In the mean time, I am going to meet other more players who are willing to share their love of this game with passion and shrea their personal growth with me as well!
Let's have some fun now!! To all the decent fellow Koreans out there - fightin' hap-shi-da!! :)

I got this game because I loved GUnbound as a kid and sadly Gunbound's developers have completely dropped the ball. Luckily Retiad has made Fortress V2 and it hits all the same notes for me, but definitely needs some changes and NEEDS more players. I'll list what I love about this game and what it's kept from Gunbound, followed by what needs to change for this to be a successful.... successor.
What's Good:
1). The extremely cheerful music and art, contrasted by gameplay with a very high skill ceiling, was the soul of Gunbound and it's captured well here.
2). The variety of tanks is good for now, and they have been releasing new ones every month and make it clear in their roadmap there will be more.
3). The wind system is very frustrating at first, but once you learn how much win effects high angles vs low angles it's very rewarding to land a direct hit across the map. Gunbound's wind system was like this too.
What's missing:
1). Playerbase. This is the most frustrating problem for me. I had to scour the internet for a viable Gunbound alternative before I discovered Fortress V2, but if it was easier to find I bet many, many other nostalgic gamers would be playing it. Currently I just play against AI.
2). Good player camera. Dear lord, the game's frame bounces around so much and for some reason it is impossible to zoom out to the whole map. This makes it almost impossible to accurately estimate a shot without already knowing the map's dimensions by heart. Probably the biggest in-game problem and seems easy to fix.
3.) SS shots. The biggest change from Gunbound in Fortress V2 is the removal of SS shots. In Fortress V2 every tank has two shot types and a passive, which usually is an ability with a small % to proc each turn. In Gunbound there were two shot types and an "SS" ability (a powerful ultimate you had to charge up). SS shots were much more exciting and also made the game more tactical by forcing players to choose when and how to use their SS, while passives take the choice away from the player and instead leave it to RNGesus. To balance this, the passives are also much less impactful than the SS, and also much more boring visually. I'm fine if they keep the passives, but I hope they introduce SS shots in the future.
TLDR: If you enjoyed Gunbound so much you miss it, this game is perfect but currently lacks a playerbase. If you enjoy pvp artillery games in general, I'd recommend waiting until they start marketing this game more. If you stumble on an article on this game while browsing you gaming blog of choice, definitely come back.

I was a Fortress when I was young.
I can say that the game is becoming interesting again because opinions are reflected little by little in this game.
You can play test games with ghosts, and they are smart and competitive.
The cute characters and various skills cause curiosity.
This game is a game that calculates wind, angle, and force from a long time ago, and improves instant judgment.
It is expected that it will be fun to reflect the opinions of users in the future.
