Drake Hollow
Welcome to The Hollow, a blighted and dying place, and home to the Drakes. Drakes are the vegetable folk native to these parts, and they need your help. They’re hungry, thirsty, and need a place to sleep. They can literally die of boredom. It’s on you to save them. Build gardens to provide them with food, wells for water, and yoga balls and puppet shows to keep them entertained. Even treadmills and solar panels to generate power for Tesla coils and electric fences, as you will quickly see they need some protecting… The Drakes aren’t the only residents of The Hollow – The Feral have overrun the land, looking to shred anything happy or good. Battle them one-on-one with a wide array of weapons ranging from tennis rackets to nail guns, bring your friends to lend a hand, and build your defenses so you can take them out without lifting a finger. Travel from region to region, season to season, taking the Drakes and their village with you. Each region is over a square mile of territory to explore, dynamically generated and populated with each passing season. You must balance your time carefully. What supplies are most crucial at any given moment? What does your village need? Metal from the supply caches to build your defenses, or crystals from the blighted regions to grow your Drakes? Prove that you’ve got what it takes to help the Drakes and take back The Hollow.

This is a fun game, my son and I loved playing it together, but I'm disappointed that the developer let it die. There could have been more patches, additions and DLCs or expansions sold for the game. Once my son and I finished it we put it down and haven't touched this in over a year. The funny thing is we both remember it and we keep coming back hoping that maybe there's a DLC or an update. So yes I recommend this game, but I don't recommend you pay full price, make sure it's on sale if you pick it up because there's been no updates since 2021.

This game is really fun to play and learn. The combat feels challenging until you get used to it. The base building is interesting to explore for a while, and the art style is very unique and lovely. I would recommend this game to people looking for something fairly casual to goof around on.
As for long term gameplay... sadly the game becomes boring rather quickly. I don't really think it offers any real replayability either, unless you feel like going endless and just going ham with base to build the biggest army of leaf critters you can.
I think I'd love to see a slightly more story centric, and complicated game along this same vein.
There is one major bug that they haven't fixed where an objective cannot be reasonably completed. I think someone found a "workaround" to it...but around the final mission I believe you're supposed to clear an island of enemies... but one of the spawns is bad and off in some predetermined location in Narnia or something. It was too annoying, so I didn't bother finishing it... but it did ruin the fun for me quite a bit when I spent 20 minutes looking for the last enemy only to give up in the end. Other than that, I didn't really see any bugs aside from the tutorial not showing up when I started in multiplayer as my first game. (Couldn't figure out how to build the cauldron to save my life... quite literally. XD)
I also recommend turning down the frequency of raids, or you'll be spending half your time running back to prevent your camp from getting destroyed. It's actually unfun and frustrating at the default rate. Pretty satisfying with multiplayer though, for those of you who have friends! :D
I think this game is best recommended for people looking for
-Something to play in the interim of something else.
-Someone whose bored and looking for something fairly casual to goof around on/kill some time.
-I would also recommend waiting for a sale. The game isn't likely going to hold your interest long enough to justify the 30 dollar price tag.

Decent game. Grab on sale. All the negative reviews are justified tbh but the game is relatively fun playing co-op. If you could only buy one game and you had multiple choices, probably better off with the other option.

This is relatively relaxing for a combat-based game. I would highly recommend the game for anyone who wants to just have fun kicking some monster butt solo or with friends, all while helping some adorable little creatures live in safety.

I played this back on xbox when it was still on game pass. Drake Hollow... Where to start?
I want to start with the cons, I think.
The story feels... Kind of bland. Repetitive. Once you've done one location, you've done them all. Every thing that there is to do, becomes a wash, rinse, repeat of the last time you did it. The character customisation is generally good, but there are a lot of places it could be improved(which is more personal preference than anything.)
However. When you play this with friends, and you get to make a sanctuary for the drakes... It's just... really, really fun. The music is amazing, the art is incredibly impressive, and it's generally just a really good game. If you want to play a combative game, but you don't want the stress or pressure of one, Drake Hollow is a great one.

Very fun game I didn't think I would enjoy as much as I have. I love the art style and the physics are very nice (being thrown across the camp by the spinning things is both fun and an excellent way to get to raiding enemies quickly on the other side of the camp). Wish you could unlock skills like double jumping or more dashes in a row (preferably not as Drake Abilities). I like to ZOOM and I can not zoom as much as I would like (I'm blaming my ADHD).
As frustrating as the enemies can be at times, it was mostly due to my lack of skill in the combat area, making me over-rely on healing and – more often than I care to admit – screaming "PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST DIE ALREADY" as I flee for my life from a massive herd of demons that spawned from a black, spiky, bloated blemish of the earth. The Blunderbuss and the proximity mines are your best friends.
Wish campaign mode had the world setting adjustments that sandbox mode does; I like exploring the world but having to come back to camp every 10 minutes to feed/heal my drakes so they don't die was more distracting than fun (even if they are super cute little guys who are always happy to see you and bring you gifts).
Multiplayer is nice but you have to buy the game from the same store or you can't play together. My friend bought it on GOG.com and even though we both unlocked multiplayer, couldn't play together because we'd bought it from different online stores. She is still waiting on her refund to repurchase it from steam so we can play.
All around very good game! I genuinely enjoy it a lot and it's become my morning chill game. Drakes are adorable and helpful, and their little noises are very cute. 9/10

After playing this game for more than 19 hours and finishing it, I can say that I was overall satisfied with his game.
The mechanics of this game are really easy to learn, and they were used a lot throughout the game. The combat was good, gathering resources was fun and also a bit challenging, and my favorite part was the constant introduction of other sources of food, water, and other resources.
The graphics in this game are great for what the game is trying to be, they really fit the theme and the game was really pleasant to play.
The story was interesting, though it became boring really quick due to the way it was presented.
After finishing the story, there is no way to continue, which is really sad, so if you do not care about the story I recommend you to start an endless world.
Overall, Drake Hollow was a fun, pleasant, relaxing game to play. There was never a point in the game where I felt bored, thanks to the constant introduction to new mechanics.
