This is probably one of the most visually stunning and beautiful games I've had the privilege to play. I first saw the game by accident while watching a play though by YouTuber Fooster. Just a few minutes in and I decided that the game looked intriguing and captivating enough for me to buy and play rather than watch. And I was in no way disappointed. The story is enchanting and in places immensely atmospheric. The developers obviously don't take themselves too seriously as there are humorous elements dotted through each of the five main sections. There are also moments of suspense, emotion and mild horror. I wouldn't go so far as to describe the game as a horror game per se, but for those who like the odd jump scare, you'll definitely have some fun. If you like story-driven, narrative experiences, where every moment of the game is worthy of a screenshot, I can highly recommend 'The Cursed Forest'.

Just finished the game, what an experience! This game is from 2019 but feels like a newer game graphically and mechanically still 5 years later and very fun. Amazing cave and haunted forest feel with strange shadow creatures that want to kill you. 10/10 game

very good if u wanna pretend 2 b a 2010s lets player which i do for every game i play so naturally i quite enjoyed this. there are like no graphics options but u can turn resolution way down and get it running at 20ish fps which some may dislike but for me it only added to teh 2010s youtube feel. it was funny when you stepped on a rake

This game was great to explore, I enjoyed the story and found it very creepy. Though having an achievement for playing the Beta version was quite annoying.

I absolutely loved this game. The story was good and the graphics were perfect. It looks and feels foreboding. You really want to know what has happened in this place. I would like to see another one similar to this.

I don't really do horror games but this one was a BLAST! What really drew me in was the spookiness of it. You hear noises and wonder what or who is making them. The jump scares in it are great! I get scared easily with this type of game style and I certainly had my share of loud moments in the game. The story is really good too and a bit disturbing in the events behind it, as in very cultist. We featured this on our YouTube channel, Mad Ferret Studios (
Also just make sure you have at least 2 or 3 saves when you run into a save point in addition to Autosave. I had to do some backtracking for our channel as i only went off of one saved game. My recording was corrupted and so I had to re-record the section I was in all over again.
To me there are at least 2 easter eggs in this game I caught. Look for the Platform 9 3/4 writing on a rock face and stepping on the rake. If Harry Potter and the Simpsons references were meant to be thrown in, well played!
For those who don't know stepping on the rake in a couple of places refers to the Cape Fear episode with Sideshow Bob and ya'll should know about Harry Potter. ;)

First of all I'd like to say that the graphics are amazing, one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Other than that it is a good walking simulator with a horror vibe to it but nothing too scary. The only issues I've experienced is that my mouse cursor is there the whole time which made me quite annoyed but I've managed to ignore it and the other issue is that my game froze 3 times at the ending of section 1 that I had to restart it every time. Overall a good game, would recommend. 7/10
