Boofle’s Home
Hello, my name is Boofle! Come and join me in my virtual world – there’s lots of fun things to explore and interactive activities for you to do! You can watch me on the swing, help water my flowers and catch butterflies!
About Boofle: Boofle’s Story Grandad’s woolly cardy has seen better days, it was still soft and cosy, but a little bit frayed. There were holes in the elbows and just one button remained, but from this, Nanny was sure something else could be made. So she started to sew on that cold winter’s night, and Boofle was born, much to the children’s delight. Boofle was all that a snugglesome pup should be, loveable and cuddly and a best friend to you and me. Boofle is there whatever the celebration, with lots of lovely Greeting Cards and gorgeous Gift Dressings to choose from, along with Gift and Plush collections you are sure to find the perfect Boofle card and gift for all occasions!

Very sweet game. For children perfect. The only remarkable aspect: the eyes of boofle... kind of creepy. It's easy to play, you can do 5 or 6 actions... sweet :) It is for free, so it's absolutly okay i guess. For one play, nice ;)

Great for kids and people who dont like zombie games, but I agree with the other comments that say this feels more like a tech demo.
It could definitly be a work of art given time.
My only niggle is when im in the garden, and I mover using the touch pad. The motion is weird and I nearly fell over.

5/10 - It is what it is and it is free.
Played on an HTC Vive with a 2.5m x 2.5m playspace with no issue.
This is a cute little demo and very low impact clearly made for children as it has a very friendly and peaceful vibe.
It would be nice if some of the interactions had some light educational value or something.
As an example you could have Boofle read a short story near the table or the butterfly game could be a certain kind of real world butterfly that Boofle tells you the name of when you catch the first one.
Sort of low impact learning mixed in to flesh out the experience a little more as I feel the atmosphere was nailed and could serve to benifit those who spend some time with this.
I am not really sure how suitable HMD games are for children in the age group this might be aimed at as they are expensive and probably heavy for a little human. However, that really is up to a parent not a reviewer to figure out.
The game runs smooth on my 780ti at 3x multiplier without any issue.
The visuals at that setting looked crisp and bright.
My only real issue with the game is that some of the controls feel like they could be tightened up and fine tuned a little.
Sometimes grabbing things or performing the actions required of you doesn't work. Where this isn't an issue for an adult brain who can quickly rationalize what is wrong a young child might become frustrated or unsure depending on the age we are talking about. As well as there just not being very much content in the game and what is there is more demo than real.
Overall I would reccomend this for younger people or people who just want to relax in an environment that might remind them of being a child. As a serious gamer or someone looking for a longer playtime you should look elsewhere.

Boofle's Home is a VR game for children. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok. There was an instruction card but it was vague and incomplete. You can move Boofle using the trackpad when you are floating outside his fence. When you are in an activity, the trackpad moves your playspace. There are 5 activities you can do.
Try it if you have kids and looking for something that they can play in VR.
Update 7 Sept 2024 = Tried it with my new Win 11 system with Index, Program crashed to desktop with error report. Tried it with HTC Vive on Win 11 system, ran to the starting lobby but did Not see my Vive controllers, so not able to play.

I'm giving this a positive review for two reasons:
1. It's free, so there's no reason to complain.
2. I view this as a demo for what could be a larger, more polished game.
If this became a full game where you join Boofle on adventures as a friend, where he's speaking to you and other characters, while you tag along on his journey, then this would really be something.
Similar to Magic Lantern, but starring Boofle. A storybook becomes alive in VR. Lot's of potential here.

This is as if Bing Bong from Inside Out made it into a VR game. Has potential for the kids but just a tech demo at the moment.
