Iron Harvest
Iron Harvest is a real-time strategy game (RTS) set in the alternate reality of 1920+, just after the end of the Great War. The Game lets you control giant dieselpunk mechs, combining epic singleplayer and coop campaigns as well as skirmishes with intense action on the battlefield for multiplayer fans, Iron Harvest is the classic real-time strategy games fans have been waiting for. Tradition clashes with scientific and technological progress, while Europe is still recovering from the brutal battles of the World War. Cities are being rebuilt and in the countryside, the era of the Iron Harvest has begun. Farmers are uncovering the remains of the majestic walking machines that had fought on the battlefields of the Great War. In the midst of this chaos, a new threat appears that will put Europe’s very existence at risk. Secret forces are putting everything they can towards destabilization of entire countries, determined to set the world on fire once again and finally seize control. Lead dozens of different unit types into battle, carefully utilize cover and blast entire buildings to shreds. Take your time to come up with a plan which allows for a wide range of tactics, including a stealth approach. Mechs. We got mechs. Lots of them.

This game needs a sequel I don't understand why people don’t like it it's so good I wish more people played it. I also wish they had made more DLC for it instead of letting it die. I understand that the story isn't the best, and the AI could be better, but overall, it's still a great game.

I played this after the DoW4 announcement. Wanted to check what it's about and maybe set my expectations for DoW4.
Overall the DNA of Company of Heroes and Dawn of War is very apparent here, the team is obviously full of fans, the dedication and attention to detail is great. I love the attention to the campaign overall, it's well written and progresses very well. This is obviously a product of passion.
The game is not perfect, could be overwhelming early on, some pathing issues where squads split, maybe some mechs are too clunky.. but overall none of this takes away from the experience. Very good game, and sets my expectations very highly for DoW4.

Super cool setting and enjoy gameplay and actually has a good story with interesting ideas.
Seen alot of people complaining about the 1st mission it takes like 10mins to finish and its a tutorial mission it really isnt that bad. If you dont even finish the first mission and slap a negative review on the game, you're just being a whiny child. the game has 3 campaigns (without dlc) all of them have highs and lows.

Jumped into the game and immediately got into the action through the conquest game mode. This is essentially a Company of Hero's clone with a 1920's aesthetic and steampunk mechs. What more could you ask for?
The negative reviews seem to revolve around how the game being poorly balanced and "abandoned." What I can see is it has a straightforward rock paper scissors game play, including 3 distinct modes that can be played solo including: campaign, skirmish and a very simple Total War style battle map with select missions attached to each territory. This is a solid game as is especially when on sale for $7 for everything. It may not be Starcraft 2 or CoH 2 and it may be very straightforward but it does not need to be complex and, most importantly, it is fun.

Never listen to those who put negative reviews on this game. This game is so fun and full of amazing things. There's more to this game than meets the eye. Hoping there will be more factions to be added and massive updates. More power for the devs.

An RTS, with mechanics similar to the Company of Heroes franchise set in the 1920’s alternate history setting with mechs that is also used for the boardgame Scythe. So, squad-based, smaller scale, cover, territory control from COH and steam powered mechs mixed with older style weapons from the setting. It is a well-designed game, with a meaty campaign of 21 missions (plus another 11 from DLC), many of which are quite lengthy with changing objectives. And the AI does a good job attacking you in waves and sometimes even changing tactics somewhat. There is also a “World” mode which gives you a campaign map where you conquer territories by fighting RTS battles. Beyond that, it has the normal skirmish, multiplayer, etc content. There are 3 factions, basically Russia, Poland and Germany with different names and the DLC adds the Americans. Each has distinct mechs with the infantry mostly being the same just with basic weapons having some small differences.
The strong points are the setting, which is interesting and different with some very cool looking mechs. The setting gets well fleshed out in the lengthy campaign which has a nice story with solid voice acting and does not have the tutorial type feel many RTS campaigns have (except the early missions). Very well done with good challenge and does a good job of mixing up the objectives and mission types. Overall, there is just a lot of content but multiplayer may not have enough people playing to keep people interested in that for very long (but not my thing). The RTS itself is well done with it playing very much like COH. It isn’t quite as polished and has some quirks though. It is a bit slower paced, largely because this is old tech and mechs are mostly very slow (maybe too slow). You are also able to pause and give orders, giving it a more tactical feel for those who don’t like the real time portion as much.
The game does have its downsides too. The campaign is too focused on telling its story and makes the campaign suffer some for it. For instance, the Polish campaign (designed to be the first one) will never fight against the Germans, just Russians and other Polish forces which hurts its variety / fun. I really feel the campaign should have you fighting all opponents and giving you a good feel for each faction’s strengths and weaknesses. Beyond that, the mechs can be very clunky and it isn’t always obvious where they can and cannot move. Some maps have larger mechs struggle to move around. Infantry could also have used more variety, and field weapons are so slow that I never built one the entire game (but I do man abandoned ones as they are good on defense). Probably the biggest problem is related to pausing and giving orders. When you are paused, some things just don’t work properly such as tooltips, double clicking units and some other minor stuff. I use this mode a lot and it gave the game a very unpolished, clunky feel. Guessing it was the result of some limitation of their engine as everything else is well made. Also have some concerns about mech balance, with some mechs just seeming to be better than others even considering price point. Never really saw a need to build melee mechs for instance. Could be wrong about this as I mainly played the campaign or story missions which aren’t great for judging this.
Overall, I did really enjoy my time with the game, even though it had some flaws. None of the flaws were that big a deal, and the rest of the game is really well made and fun. It has great single player content and would probably be good in multiplayer if you have several friends to play with. The multiplayer scene is there but may not be active enough for someone only interested in multiplayer though. Definitely a recommend for those looking for a single player focused RTS that is a bit on the slower, more thoughtful side then the twitchy action side, assuming you like the setting at all.

Played multiplayer with friends and ignored the campaign. Really like it. Started to play the campaign early 2026 and loving the game. Would advise to use native languages as it adds loads of atmosphere. Great buy. Also remember it was a Kickstarter game.
