Hello Puppets! VR
Wishlist new Hello Puppets game!
the Game“HELLO PUPPETS!” is a horror-comedy adventure that turns your hand into a living, talking puppet named Scout. Years ago, a bad Sesame Street knock-off called “Mortimer’s Handeemen” was canceled and forgotten, but the puppets from the show have come to life, they’re pure evil, and they have plans for you. Your only chance of escape is the somewhat-less-evil Scout. Work with Scout to escape the evil Handeemen puppets before it’s too late!
In 1986, a fire destroyed the studio where “Mortimer’s Handeemen,” a failing children’s show starring hand puppets, was filmed. Eight people died, including the show’s creator. Ever since, rumors have swirled that the burnt-out shell of a warehouse was haunted. You play as a college reporter who broke in to see if the rumors were true. You’re about to get more than you bargained for.
“Hello Puppets!” is an immersive VR horror game with a twist: stuck on one of your hands is a sarcastic, foul-mouthed sentient puppet named Scout. Scout isn’t your usual companion character: she doesn’t like you and you don’t like her, but you’ll have to work together to escape the evil cast of “Mortimer’s Handeemen,” brought to life by a magical spell gone wrong. You’re on the run from psychotic puppets, and your only friend is a puppet who is, by her own account, “slightly less evil.”
Features:
- Unique horror-meets-comedy tone. Quirky characters and Scout’s foul-mouthed sarcasm will put a smile on your face, right before an evil puppet jumps out of the dark at you and turns it into a scream!
- Scout is more than a bland companion character, she’s alive, and you can interact with her using revolutionary mechanics only possible in VR. She remembers how you treat her, and reacts differently to situations based on what she thinks of you.
- Complex, challenging puzzles and pop out scares keep you on your toes. The game alternates between high-intensity scares and fun VR puzzles that will test your ability to work together with Scout.
- ”Puppet Mode” lets you transform into Scout and see the entire world from a radically different perspective. Use “Puppet Mode” to solve puzzles, escape enemies and learn secrets about the world of “Hello Puppets!”
- Rich lore hidden throughout the world, telling a horrifying and darkly comic story. “Hello Puppets!” is filled with secrets that will enrich and amplify the complex story of the game.

While it took a little under 2 hours to finish, Hello Puppets was pretty good. The puzzles were kind of simple but some of the scares got me. Scout (your puppet) is aware of how messed up the situations get and has funny comments on it. But you can also miss what she's saying if you don't physically stop to listen. It's a good short spooky game to show to friends (or play alone at 3 am like I did) and I would buy the sequel.

Fun and scary in places but sadly a play once and never play again game price is a bit too high IMO. Wait for it on sale if you want a short game to play. (7/10)

This was a nice short adventure game.. Gave me a couple of jumps.. But nothing over the top.. You soon settle into it. Would have loved to have seen it be longer or some DLC levels would be amazing. It took me around 2 Hours to complete the game.
I loved the interactivity between yourself and your puppet.. Great voice acting and script for the puppet.. It was the highlight of the game.

This is a really good horror vr game. It has a decent amount of playtime, It's a mix of scares and puzzles with light running that has a nice balance. I believe this is a prequel because one of the puppets seems more monstrous.
I would highly recommend this game

Hello Puppets! VR Accessibility Overview Jan. 12th 2024
Overview:
Puppet pal time! This one is pretty short so let’s start. First off, SteamVR is fully supported so as far as other software being used at the same time you are good to go! Which is good because there is no seated play mode in the game by default, so if you are someone that needs to be able to play while sitting down then you can thankfully use WalkinVR or the height offset + toggle of OVR Advanced Settings.
Smooth movement is the only option for locomotion and snap is the only option you get for turning sadly. A bit of a bummer but honestly I’d rather it have snap only over smooth only because it can open the game to more players.
Color blind modes and closed captions are both sadly a no-go all around so if you absolutely need either or both of them, you may wanna skip as it is dialogue heavy and puzzles are quite often color based.
Difficulty modes are also a no-go so you get what you get with this game when it comes to this. There isn’t combat or any crazy things like that so I don’t know what difficulty modes would actually accomplish.
The arm & upper body movement level for Hello Puppets! VR is Full and Full only. With every single thing that you do or interact with requiring full reach and use of your arms, there is no way to work around all of it. WalkinVR could help with some but not all.
