Absolute cinema. Worth every penny. Don't even need to buy a copy for your friend. EA did something right for once.

100% recommend. Especially if you're in a relationship. Might even fix things. The perspectives feel a little too real to how I can be irl. Sometimes I caught myself thinking "yeah exactly what I said" to my character realizing that's not the point. It's all about perspective. And working together to get to the end. Story was touching. Mechanics wasn't as frustrating as Split Fiction. Easier game for the special person in your life that isn't big on gaming. Only thing is one of the unplayable characters got on my nerves. But I know thats part of the point. Still 10/10

An absolutely beautiful game to experience with your other half or loved one!
My spouse was kind enough to let me win one or two mini games to ensure that the divorce does not happen irl.

It Takes Two | Perfect Game Review
(100% Completion at 11.7 Hours)
It Takes Two made me realise that sometimes, dragging your romantic partner through chaos is the ultimate relationship test… but I wouldn’t know. I played this game with my gamer best friend instead of my wife, so this was an absolute breeze.
Gameplay: By constantly reinventing itself with creative mechanics and surprising level design that actually makes you and your partner communicate (or argue), the gameplay in It Takes Two never got dull during our first playthrough. ★★★★★
Graphics: With many vibrant and detailed environments to cooperate through, It Takes Two often feels like jumping into a Pixar film on a sugar high. From flying through the air on fidget spinners in a kid’s bedroom to ice skating across a snow globe, the entire game was a visual delight. ★★★★★
Sound: Surprisingly dynamic and shifting appropriately with the tone of each level with lively voice acting from the main characters. However, the overall soundtrack was not as memorable to me compared to other aspects of the game. ★★★★☆
Story: Fluctuates well between funny, heartfelt, and unhinged moments. The core narrative—parents being forced to reconcile their nearly broken marriage while solving puzzles as miniaturised dolls—is earnest, but unrealistic at times. While the story scenes were well presented, I honestly found the script to be a bit cringey. ★★★☆☆
Replayability: It Takes Two was a solid one-and-done for me—fun while it lasted, but not something I’d replay unless swapping roles. Also, it would be best if you waited for a sale, since perfecting it in under 15 hours didn’t quite justify paying full price. ★★☆☆☆
Final Thoughts: It Takes Two understands that being cooperative isn’t just about playing together—it’s about problem-solving, yelling, laughing, and somehow having a great time through all the chaos. Even if some parts are a bit too quirky for their own good, the creativity and polish make it one of the best couch co-op experiences out there.
Overall Rating: 8/10, more affordable (and entertaining) than couples counselling.

10/10 game! Just be careful when your wife gets the hammer, they become extremely aggressive and destroys everything, including yourself.

We came for a cute co-op adventure. We left with life-long guilt after what we did to Cutie the Elephant. I thought this was a game for kids, but it’s actually a 'How to become a war criminal' simulator.
10/10 – My partner cried for 20 minutes, but hey, we got the double jump upgrade. Worth it.

The Ultimate Test of Love, Friendship, and Who Can Suck Less at Platforming
Let me start by saying this: It Takes Two is not just a game. It's a relationship boot camp disguised as a couch co-op masterpiece. It’s therapy, teamwork drills, and absolute chaos wrapped in the most creative storyline I’ve ever seen in a game. If Pixar and your relationship counselor made a baby, this would be it.
Now, I went into this thinking, “How hard could it be?” Turns out... very. There were moments when I was majestically failing at every jump, puzzle, and timing challenge, while my duo (who I’m convinced is part ninja, part Einstein) was flying through it all like a caffeinated squirrel. Of course, fast-forward a few levels, and the tables turned. Suddenly he was the one crashing into walls and dying spectacularly while I was doing aerial stunts like a pro. Balance, I guess.
The game is built for two people—literally. You cannot play solo, and honestly, that’s the charm. You need each other to survive, to progress, and occasionally to scream, “WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?!” It tests your communication skills, your patience, and your ability to not throw your controller when your partner presses the wrong button for the 17th time.
The story? Oh man. Best. Ever. No spoilers here, but imagine a heartfelt, emotional rollercoaster wrapped in hilarious dialogue and breathtakingly unique levels. One moment you’re bouncing on jello, the next you’re fighting squirrels, then suddenly you’re flying a plane made of underpants. It never lets up and never gets boring.
Whether you’re a couple trying to spice up date night, siblings who want to prove who the real favorite is, or best friends who think they’ve seen it all—It Takes Two will challenge you, make you laugh, frustrate you (in the best way), and leave you wanting more.
If you survive it without passive-aggressively muting your mic, you know your bond is real.
And hey, if you all like this review, I’ll happily jump into Split Fiction next and share my chaos-filled thoughts there too.
Final verdict: 10/10. Would fail epically with my partner again.
