Freedom Planet

Great game. A Sonic game but more emphasis on combat but not losing any speed. Worth the cash.

This game is SOOOOO GOOOODDDDD omg. It's basically like if Sonic had a baby with Megaman in the best way possible. The sprite work is beautiful and the amount of SOUL put into this is 10/10. Voice acting is great too!

I really love the characters and how they all play too!

In an era of soulless slop and ai this game takes you back to the good ol' days of gaming. 10/10.

Compared to the game's more polished sequel, Freedom Planet now feels a bit crude and unbalanced; most notably the game's cutscenes are a bit too long (they're skippable though, and there's a cutscene-less mode as well) and some bosses near the end are very hard (probably the reason lives are meaningless in the game). Still, the game is fun, challenging and charming with its can-do spirit and cutesy voice acting. Moreover, the game has one of the best videogame soundtracks of all time. The zones are engaging, there's replay value thanks to character-based differences (there are three playable characters), and for the most part the game's boss battles are fun. Freedom Planet started off as a Sonic fangame. It shows, but not to the game's detriment; I wouldn't even have thought of playing it in the first place had it not had a bit of Sonic in its genes.

-Cute sidekick with wider moveset thats more fun to play as than the MC: Check!
-Story thats way too dramatic for whats needed for this type of game: Check!

Ill give this the Knuckles stamp of approval.
It checks everything one could ask for in a great Sonic game.

My first game to clear 100%. It was so freaking satisfying. I really like how fluently you run across those levels. There is also a lot to explore. Really recommend this game, especially to Sonic fans!!

As someone who, lo and behold, doesn't enjoy classic Sonic gameplay at all, this is my saving grace for a 2D platformer. Played it 3 times in a few days with the three characters, it's that good.
