Meowtroidvania
It is a short and charming game, paying homage to classic Metroid titles. The Game Boy aesthetic is captivating and the extra colour palettes add a delightful touch.
Progression is made through a central hub (The Nexus), like the Main Deck in Metroid Fusion. This design choice may make the game somewhat linear for those who enjoy the freedom to explore (and occasionally get lost) in their metroidvanias.
Now, I can only dream of another Metroid 2 remake with the engine from this game.

The graphic style was pretty misleading because as a newbie for action game, I found this game quite hard, especially some of the bosses. That also made some of the achievements quite hard to get, which was a shame. But overall, a nice game and maybe someday I will be able to improve my skill and get those achievements eventually.

Simple yet effective! Definitely a fun experience to have this game be my first time exposed to a Metroidvania game!

Quite linear as metroidvanias go, and not particularly difficult (I finished in just under three hours while taking time to explore) but it makes up for it in cuteness and style. Definitely worth the price!

Gato Roboto is a charming and bite-sized adventure with a very creative central mechanic of traversing both with and without your mech-suit. The major areas in this game provide excellent and varied challenges involving this mechanic that make each and every screen a pleasure to conquer. It is especially commendable that, given the stylistically limited color palette, the pixel art and audiovisual effects of each area are successful at providing a sense of distinctiveness without deviating from the overall quality or cohesiveness of the whole. Gato Roboto is quite short, but more than worth its asking price. It’s an endearing experience that’s hard not to like.
It’s also probably a great Metroidvania to play if you’ve never played a Metroidvania. The progression is streamlined, minimal to a responsible degree, and easily perceptible.

Do you like Cats? Do you like the 'Troids? These are two great things that go better together in this tasty package. Silly atmosphere, accurate cat behavior, simple but well executed level design, and excellent boss fights all make this an easy pick.
Deserving of special commendation are the music and sound design, both fantastic and really bring the game to life.

Gato Roboto is exactly what it looks like: A Metroid-inspired indie game with enough little twists to avoid getting lost in the shuffle. The subversion of controlling a cute cat inside of a mech suit leads to amusing gameplay scenarios, but that's also the case for many of the major upgrades and mechanics. Difficulty will always be subjective, but I found that the level design provided enough resistance to make progress feel earned and rewarding. The only criticism I feel the need to vocalize is how this game is a bare-bones Metroidvania, with each new area being a linear level that just happens to loop back on itself. Otherwise, Gato Roboto is an amusing action platformer that can confidently be beaten in an afternoon.
