If you played any Far Cry game after 2, you know what to expect - Open World full of Outpost/Fortress liberation, Hunting and crafting, stealth, story, graphics, INSANE VILLAIN, and much more.
Ability to ride and attack with Elephants is absolute fun!
Guns are customizable (scope, suppressor, skins, etc). Tons of option.
Map is Huge, mini-helicopter to traverse easily.
Slangs in "Hindi" language is used throughout and for any Indian that's lit fun right there! Shangri-la missions are fully voice overed in Hindi and its majestic, simply wow.
Choices matter and hence multiple endings. One can be attained in 15 minutes!
Many good DLCs, especially the one with Yetis. Hence season pass/Gold recommended. Durgesh Prison DLC isn't good though. I skipped.
I recommend to Disable loot animation inside game settings so game feels more seamless.
But the game suffers from optimization bugs in Modern PCs.
Multi-core CPU Fix (boost significant FPS). I recommend to use Process Lasso to automate this process and disable all odd CPUs including 0.
Additional FPS fix, I recommend only set: GPU Max Buffer = 1
Set Launch option for Far Cry 4 in Steam "-skipintro" to skip startup logo intros.
Lossless Frame Generation highly recommended if you have high hz display.
How can someone not recommend this game from peak 2014 era. Instant Recommend. ✔

It was one of the first games I played on my PlayStation 4 back in the day. I replayed it recently, about ten years later, and it’s just as fun as I remembered, maybe even more so.

First of all, Kyrat is beautiful, and I mean beautiful. This game doesn’t look like it’s from 2014. The views are breathtaking, and the setting feels truly unique. It really makes you feel like an outsider in a foreign land.

The gunplay is solid. There’s a wide variety of weapons to try out, but truth be told, I stuck with just a few favorites for most of the game.

There’s also a ton of side content to do. I genuinely enjoyed 100%ing the game, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel a bit of fatigue after collecting my 40th mask, tearing down my 130th poster, or repeating yet another side mission.

The voice acting is phenomenal, especially after making story choices. I actually felt bad after siding with Sabal once, thanks to the amazing performance by Amita’s voice actress. That said, it’s a bit questionable that the characters reveal their true motives and tell you how badly you messed up after you’ve already made your choice.

Pagan Min is wonderful. He’s charismatic, funny, and I always enjoyed listening to him whenever he showed up, same goes for several of the other characters.

The story is solid overall, though there’s one part at the airport that I didn’t really care about. It could’ve been handled or explained differently.

The Arena is fun, but grinding it to rank 10 for the unique weapon was definitely tedious.

I also tried the multiplayer for the achievement it’s pretty much dead, but I’m not surprised, since it didn’t seem particularly interesting.

All in all, I can highly recommend this game. It’s my favorite Far Cry title, and I’ll definitely revisit it again at some point in the future.

This is, in my opinion , the greatest Far Cry game of all time. The map and graphics, even to this day, still look amazing compared to many other games, newer games included. The atmosphere, people, and animals in the game are so good that not once did I feel like in certain places it was empty. The story is also, in my opinion, the best of the Far Cry games, and the villain, Pagan Min, is fantastic.

Far Cry 4 lets you live the dream: being a Nepalese-inspired Maoist insurgent with style. Forget dialectical materialism, our material of choice is grenades, flamethrowers, and the occasional angry honey badger. I liked that even in a hypothetical maoist insurrection, half your playtime is watching your leaders argue about ideological purity and ends with a purge. Excellent detail. No notes.

Great game.
Recommend if you're playing solo story mode, but do not buy this game if you're trying to play co-op. Because there is an error connecting to co-op mode.
