Something for for your younger kids or grand parents will enjoy. As a middle aged hardcore gamer brought up on games from the age of 10 this is rather boring for the likes of me. But this game isn't made for me so can't really bash and the best fly eating game I've played since Bog Frog on the Intellivision. Lovely visuals.

If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to be a frog, then VRog is here to make all of your dreams come true. The aim of the game is to consume insects, while hopping from one lilly pad to another to find more; you can even jump on the back of a friendly turtle and go for a ride. Not all things are good in frog-land, though, as a menacing stork is always on the hunt for a tasty frog-leg dinner.
VRog uses only head movements to control the game, therefore no controllers are needed; making it a perfect title if you're waiting for a repair or a replacement controller. It also makes the gameplay a lot easier to learn, so it's perfect for kids and adults alike, along with newcomers to virtual reality. You simply need to only look at an insect for a couple of seconds in order for your tongue to lash out and capture it, likewise looking at the lilly pads to jump to them, or even at the game modes to start them. As for the bugs, there are flies, mosquitos, poisonous bees that distort your vision, ladybugs that give you a night vision view for a little while, and dragonflies that slow time down for a bit. Eating the same insects in a row gives you a chain multiplier to increase your score quicker. It's all very basic, easy, and fun.
There are three game modes in total, with one of them being a party mode where you can compete against the highscores of your friends. In Arcade Mode, you'll need to catch and eat as many bugs as possible within the allotted time frame. As for Survival, it's made up of multiple levels where you need to meet a certain score, all while avoiding the wandering stork who will eat you in one bite. I managed to make it to level six of Survival mode, so I'm not sure how many levels there are in total, but the stork gets faster with each level, and the points that you need climb ever higher.
I personally managed to get through all that VRog has to offer in about 45 minutes, which includes getting 100% of the achievements. Even though the graphics are bright and colorful, a downside to the game is that there is only one environment that you'll be visiting over and over again. With that said, for the price point of $5.49 CAD, it's not a bad little game. On top of being well crafted, it's extremely enjoyable for adults, and very kid friendly as well. A great first attempt from ByteRockers' Games.

Worth it's price. I 100%'d it in 54 minutes, yet no regrets. It's a fun little shooter, for people who are new to VR it will be a challenge, for people familiar with shooters and fixed-point movement it will be a cool run. But if you want all those achievements, get ready for a challenge! The spawns are random, so everything is a bit luck based, yet never feels unfair. Arcade feels a little too short, but is manageable. Survival is the mode that makes this game worth it tho! The first two waves will be interesting, you slowly learn how this game is played. But as soon as wave 4, you are in for a treat! This is where you have to use tactics and plan your journey around the pond, while being stalked by someone who will kill you in one bite!
Just buy it, it's a fun run for that price!

Nice game for the kids. but the need to loose the dizziness emulation after eating a special bug it cause nausea.
after five minutes playing i had enough and my stomach turnt opside down.
graphics are great and i like the hopping arround.
so for now thumbs down only because the dizziness emulation (i don't like to cleanup after the kids played this game)

And Yes the developers respond quickly and made a adjustment now you can choose from the launch menu stable back ground, I hope this will later on be a setting in the game but for now perfect. I can give only one thumbs up but both thumbs in the air. no more nausea ( I love clean floors :-) )
Great game to play with the kids and with friends, a special with friends that are not gamers it's instructions are simple "look and eat" and for this price it's a need to have.
we gone a have a lot of fun next weekend with or friends.

If you can get this on sale for like .99 cents then it's totally worth it. I wish the targeting system was something other than looking (it's not actually fun to have to look around and strain your neck). But it's a nice and easy relaxing VR game otherwise. Just consider it like a mobile game, just in VR. It has leaderboards and trying to survive for as long as possible can actually be challenging. Keep in mind if you have limited space in real life for roomscale, this is a good time-waster that you can do seated (although it's harder to look 360 without straining your neck). Visuals are nice considering the type of game.
I do not recommend this game at full price however. If you have kids, they will probably enjoy this more than others.

A nice game to play. Runs fine on my DK2 after I applied a fix that stops the HMD display turning grey due to SteamVRs boundaries not getting on with DK2. Sense of scale is really nice and it's pretty daunting seeing that Stork looming over you in survival mode!. The art direction is really nice with each bug easily identifiable on a whim.
Would recommend to anyone with a VR headset.

Only runs on Win8.1+ if you actually want to play it. On Win7 you can't use VR, i think.
Works after taking the time to instal and configure SteamVR, Riftcat and installing VRidge on a decent modern mobile phone, which i luckily had. However streaming to the phone didnt work well for me, but i could still use the phone to move and interact in the game, while watching on PC, even though that is not ideal. Might have been due to my low HW specs.
Nonetheless it's a fun small interactive game.
