A unique and fascinating take on horror gaming. Story is simple but extremely heavy in tone (even for a horror game) and it cleverly manages to ride the line between horrible and quirky with the use of its curious art style to portray the most vile things that may have gotten it in hot water had they aimed for a less stylised look. I found the game very cumbersome using anything other than a mouse and keyboard, but there's a lot to love here for anyone willing to take the time to explore it properly.

Much better than expected, but not amazing. The stealth gameplay is annoying, the Child escort bit is pretty annoying as well. There's some really screwed up stuff in the game, and I really wish they'd of just let you do your own thing. The gist of it is that your kids are kidnapped, then 7 years later you finally have things figured out enough to have a general idea of where they might be. Then there's a whole lot of child trafficking, with a lot of relatively awful torture and what-not. As a parent, and as a human being, I wanted to be as brutal as possible - but the game wants you to be stealthy and it's nonsense. Good music.

Okay - this is a freaking dark game. Not just the theme, but also the dang game. Flashlight, lighter, candle - needed, so don't waste them. Theme - even darker, so not recommended for the faint of heart. Decent concept by the creator - would hate to see into their mind...

Recommended but would like if some features were better.
Stealth---- from what i can remember about it, the stealth was so so slow moving it was making this game already harder than it is. On top of that making the lethal stab instead of a wound was a matter of getting exactly behind the victim. Exactly. If you were 0,1 degree left or right it was a wound.
Damage taken---- making the character appear as if he was chewed when he was injured was a bad way of showing it imo.
Interface and graphics could have been a bit better as well.
I played this game years ago, i may not remember specifics but i do recollect that i approve buying it so i recommend it.

The cutesy designs for characters at first combine oddly well with the unsettling and grim nature of the story and events. Kind of like seeing the Muppets pull out knives and attack the audience and roll around in the blood while still smiling and laughing like it was a normal show. While this has a more horror-style emphasis on stealth the gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of Hotline Miami in that you should expect to get killed and screw up for each level and it will reward good reactions and memorisation, but in turn it gives a lot of freedom for how YOU want to get around it and it does reward clever tricks and ideas on your part while having maps that are just open enough to let you try these ideas out but still have clear goals.
There's also end of level ratings to 100% the game for those who enjoy extra challenge or having another reason to replay a level.

Verdict: 9/10 The most shocking content I've ever seen in a video game. This is the shock horror equivalent of Traces of Death or Cannibal Holocaust but in a video game form. Makes the game POSTAL look tame in terms of violence. I'm shocked it's not banned for it's graphic depictions or at the very least controversial. The game should make you go POSTAL on every thing in it for allowing such horrific acts to befall children. I've never played a horror game that made me so enraged, disgusted, and sad at the same time. You will run your fist through your monitor at the enemies in this game to obliterate the pixels on screen.
Story is incredible and had me digging deeper with a twist revealed toward the end that should be any parents worst nightmare. It's as if Frederick Raynal took every aspect of an Alex Jones conspiracy theory about children and just made a game out of it. This game would've been way more controversial had it released now. Play it for the incredible story, the game play is okay but nothing incredible.
Most of the negative reviews criticize the game play yet even they acknowledge the story is really good.

fun and dark story. slightly buggy controls at times and sometimes the mechanics seems to not be quite right. also they promised no drm when crowdfunding but still had denuvo diddler software at launch and only removed it later so very mixed bag of candy there barely edges to a recommend due to the current state
