I have been playing this game for years and only just starting to master it and get some good lap and race times on the scoreboard... what? they made sequels? is that why i cant get an online race? Oh well. You should get this, sink 150 or so hours into it, instead of the 3-4 hours the negative reviewers did, then you will see how good it is.

While I've had this game for years, it never really clicked with me until reinstalling a week or so ago. This one really shines relative to any sense of speed. I'm more a sim racer, motorcycle games always felt a bit off timing wise. This one really provides the sensory input to allow you to fly (literally/figuratively) across these courses.
I've since bought TT:3 - refunded (full price is pricey - didn't have that same flow feel)
With the refund I picked up TT:2 and enjoying that - but missing some tracks from this game that makes ones bird twitch (Ireland Triangle baby!)
This also is wonderful on the Steam Deck - which I can't say for the others!

In Short... I was on the fence regarding buying this game for the last 5 years. I saw it on sale for $5, and finally bit the bullet. I already know this will be the best $5 I've ever spent on Steam. Make sure you get it on sale while you can!
Quick back story; I've been a Sim Racer for the last 20 years or so.
However, 2 years ago, I had to pack my sim rig away as I unfortunately no longer have space for it. So I haven't done much racing since then, as I don't enjoy racing games on a gamepad.
As of today, my feeling on gampads has now changed. (more on that soon)
I loaded up this game, did the short tutorial and then jumped straight into a not so "quick race" of 4 laps of 60kms each, around the Isle Of Man Snaefell Mountain Course.
I've never ridden a motorbike, or played a motorbike game before, however I felt right at home straight away.
I picked the first rider I saw which was Bruce Anstey on his Honda CBR600 in the Super Sport category, used the suggested Semi-Pro settings, and for the next 83mins & 28secs proceeded to have the gaming time of my life!
The experience was so immersive, the sense of speed incredible. This game was definitely designed to be ridden in first person view. I found the vibration feedback through my controller really added to the immersion aswell.
A few quick tips that I picked up on my 4 laps around the Isle Of Man;
- Be gentle on your throttle and braking inputs.
- Use the engine braking to slow you down before applying your brakes
- Brake in a straight line
- Trust the racing line, it was really helpful. Considering I'd never played this game, or seen this circuit before I only crashed 15 times over the 4 laps. (Which in my mind sounds pretty good! haha...)
- Use first person view. You'll have so much more connection with your bike and feel of the road.
- Avoid the gutters
Hope this helps...
In conclusion;
Yes, I've only played 80mins so far, but watch this space... I can assure you, there will be many more hours put into this game as the years go by.
I hope you enjoy it too!!

*A controller is highly recommended*
A very good game and a lot of fun. The bike physics take a little time to learn so you do need a bit of patience picking and setting up a bike that suits your play style.
You have several in-game options to choose from, type of bike and manufacturer (Honda, Kawasaki, etc.), riding positions and even set up your own leather colours. You also have a number of tracks to race on and the infamous TT course, you can choose from solo, multiplayer, tutorial and career modes.
Racing options include, mass start, time of day to race and number of laps. The tracks you race on are varied and some are very difficult with 90 degree turns.
Graphic and sound options are available to set the game up how you want it play.
The TT course is amazing, very quick and it will take time to learn because it's so big.
