The painting-like art style, clay animation-esque imagery, movie-like immersion, fairy tale-like storyline, and overall retro atmosphere, along with its distinctive characters, are captivating. While it may seem typical and ordinary in some respects, it was nonetheless enjoyable.

If there is one thing I sympathized with Gretchen than Hans. How about a reboot of a sequel with Gretchen as the main protagonist?
Somehow this game reminded me of some East German stop motion kids TV content from the 80s - this, along with the Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken, Kathy Rain, Lovecraft and even James Bond(!) vibes were an instant sell for me, and I never regret the decision of jumping head first into this adventure.

Firstly when i think of point and clicks i think of annoying puzzles and in general they are not really my thing but this game got me very interested with the art and story i finished the game torn because i want to try a couple other point and clicks story driven games so that's good for me personally but this game left me pretty let down it seemed like it was going to be funny and deep but ended up being shallow and quiet boring..... i really like the voice acting and art/setting but the story left me wanting more the game is short can be beaten in maybe 3 hours with a guide so if your looking for an easy game to relax this is a good game... 6/10

The game is on the short side, and not overly difficult, but the animation is lovely and the story is pretty good.

We played this two and a half times, and overall it's very enjoyable.
The art style is impeccable, and the best part of this game.
On some puzzles, it's not immediately clear what the goal is or, in some cases, the solution is somewhat silly. Nonetheless, they are generally satisfying to complete.

Trüberbrook is a point-and-click adventure that combines stunning visuals with an intriguing sci-fi mystery set in 1960s Germany. You take on the role of Hans Tannhauser, a young American scientist who wins a trip to the obscure village of Trüberbrook. While this may seem like an exciting adventure at first, strange events unfold and you're soon caught up in a mystery that transcends the boundaries of our reality. The story of Trüberbrook is a mix of the supernatural and unexplained phenomena, with a touch of Twin Peaks-inspired strangeness.
The game's visuals are its standout feature. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every scene and it genuinely feels like you're navigating a miniature diorama come to life. The voice acting in Trüberbrook is generally decent and the music enhances the atmosphere greatly.
Trüberbrook boasts a charming and eccentric ensemble of characters, like the gruff innkeeper Trude, her peculiar daughter Leni and the enigmatic inventor Lazarus Taft. This diverse cast adds humor and depth into the game, making your journey through Trüberbrook a memorable and delightful experience.
The gameplay follows the typical point-and-click adventure formula. You explore the village, interact with the residents and solve puzzles that vary in complexity. Some puzzles are straightforward, but others are confusing, often lacking clear hints or logical solutions.
While the game's mystery is engaging, the pacing feels off and it seems like parts of the story have been cut short, leaving players with unanswered questions. The story struggles to find a consistent rhythm and the game forces you to watch unskippable scenes and engage in fetch quests that drag on. The lack of manual save options is also frustrating.

This is so much better than its reviews. I played it when it first came out and did a second playthrough five years later - there is very few games I can say this about. It's an absolute labour of love, and the setting, the scenes, the loving stop motion animation and the soundtrack alone are worth your time. give it a shot. right now it's at 90% off, you can't go wrong.
