I was expecting a fucking management game. I got a fucking management game directed by Quentin Tarantino.

I've had some issues with the first This is the Police game as I've written in the review. In the end though I'm glad I finished it and was very eager to see what the developer came up with next. More of that, it turns out.
Since I was now familiar with the gameplay and with what to expect from this game I had a much smoother experience. The big addition this time around is off course the Xcom like turn-based strategy sections. Since I'm familiar with xcom it was easy for me to pick up. You'll know what to expect but because this is a cop game you'll get more options to apprehend the perps without killing them off course. At first I felt that this addition to This is the Police was unnecessary but I liked it nontheless and it added even more variety. All the gameplay tweaks were welcome additions.
The story is just as good if not better then before and I felt there was less of a disconnect between it and the gameplay.
In short this is a more polished sequel. I had a better experience. They kept everything that worked the first time and added welcome new features. What more could you possibly want?
I'm curious what Weappy Studios comes with next. This is the Police 3? Or something completely new?

I gotta say, I didn't really feel that the negative points of this game were as bad as some reviewers claimed, but they're still there.
Gameplay wise:
I had fun with the tactical operations! But they should have definitely included a redo button for at least the last action you took. Not only are the controls janky, but sometimes you have to restart a whole 1 hour mission because of one missclick.
Most of the people saying they were too hard also said that they went in shooting, so y'know. Sure, the stealth way takes longer I guess, but is also much easier to do.
Investigations are pretty fun, tough it's usually obvious which suspect did it. Like, there are 3 or 4 useless clues and one which points directly to the guy who did it.
Management of your "tabs" is literally non-existent. As long as you play your operations the stealthy way and arrest people instead of killing them you get more tabs than you can possibly spend.
The fact that your officers can refuse to go on call is fucking infuriating. Yeah Spurlock, let me just ignore this hostage situation and get 5 civillians killed because one of your partners is slightly lower rank than you. Oh what's that Brandon? You don't wanna get in the car with Woodlock because he smells a bit? Sure, we'll ignore this bomb threat at the orphanage.
As for the rest of the gameplay in general it's pretty similar to the first game, but there's still some stuff that's not explained to you properly and can cause some confusion.
Story wise:
It gets pretty annoying to see people complain about the amount of reading or cutscenes in every single visual novel and narrative game. It's the same thing if someone complained that an FPS game had too much shooting in it.
"Is this a game or a novel??". It's a novel dude. It's literally written in the description.
People also complained about the stuttering, which like, yeah it's a tad overused. But people who get put in unreasonable and stressful situations(Which is most of this game) won't formulate perfect sentences.
It's true that sometimes the dialogue is a bit pointless and drags for too long.
Take the first cutscene for example. Here I assume the writers are trying to introduce Lilly, Gale, and make the point that Lilly's subordinates are a bunch of lazy idiots who don't really respect her. They showed all that in the first quarter of the scene, but still dragged it on for another 15 minutes while the cops talked about bad movies, describing them in detail.
The story overall is pretty interesting. It has really interesting themes, which get more relevant by the day.
Overall, pretty good game, especially for the sale price of 3.74 euros.

If you can survive this intro (it's like drinking tar with a straw) then you'll like it. When guy mentioned as "Courier" will be speaking to Jack (old man) ask yourself "Can I listen to him and withstand this kind of talking and narration?". In case of 'no' hit alt+f4 -> delete -> refund or just skip it all to the actual gameplay.

Review from Steam

One of the roughest strategy games I've played recently (maybe because I don't play many or I suck) but this game is tough tough. I have to actually think about police placement and where to use them, I find myself having to restart days because I'm losing police. The story is great, I wont say anything due to spoilers but do play the first game for the story.
