Delightfully cute with amusing writing and visuals all wrapped into the package of a quick game! Very enjoyable overall and love the rabbit hole I've found after clicking on everyone's links on the credits page! Puzzles were just tricky enough to make me feel smart when I figured them out while also straightforward enough to not leave me scratching my head and going to the internet for a guide like so many other point & clicks! Beautiful job, team! (The voice-over work was also lovely and refreshing!) #MargaretForMayor

The Lost Dachshund is a fun little puzzle clicker game. You must find your mischievous puppy before the ferry arrives. It's not too difficult, and it doesn't take too long to complete.

What. A. Masterpiece.
Where do I begin?
This game developed by god himself, Weenie Walker Games, is the appitomy of gaming history. The rich lore of the game is spectacularly crafted to give the player an emotionally driven story. The way the british mail man, Postman Pete, leaves you letters along your journey deeply touched my soul. His kindness to simply save this dog really drove me to become a better human. His soothing voice is the one thing within the world which pushes me to keep going. With every letter I find, I am reminded of the true meaning my journey and the obstacles on the way. See, this isn't just a story about a lost dachshund, this is a story about love and passion; a story about a grandfather's rite of passage. Throughout the story, our spiritual connection to the lost dachshund is a deep symbolism of a grandfather's connection to their grandchildren. As for our deeply conflicting antagonist, Margaret Wilson, her character deeply resembles the anger of someone who never found their lost dachshund, thus their love for their grandchildren. Now, Margaret, an obviously angered soul, most likely doesn't know the love of a grandchild. This is precisely why she attempts to thwart our journey of passion and love. The lost dashchund, Peanut, is flying away further away from its family representing how throughout life one must seek out their loves and hold them close. Peanut directly symbolizes a loved family member slowly pushing you away due to the course of time. The grandfather's journey to find the lost peanut represents the family struggles, hardships, and emotional strifes of family members slowly becoming distant as time goes on.
Now for the gameplay, the visual style is STUNNING with next gen graphics and with a Triple AAA fluidity, The way the sun shines through the different landscapes truly reminds me of better times. And the water effects of the lake reminds me of the deep family that many share. It is evident that Weenie Walker Games, now one of my favorite game developers of all time, put their love and care into the game. Playing The Lost Dachshund feels like eating a nice homemade meal, experted crafted by a family member that you only hold in memory. The game begins in the post office. This intelligent choice of game design represents the begining of one's journey. and shows a clue to the hardships that will follow. The first letter left by mailman Pete is a direct reminder of the player's goal, a direct reminder to what they are fighting for, As you begin on this journey, you feel as if the tensions are high although you know this is the beginning of a truly beautiful adventure. Throughout the game you go about collecting items around the island just as in real life you go about life collecting treasures memories. Each item, such as the planks of wood or the steel hammer, is a direct link to the grandfather's past memories reminding the player to why they are truly here. It is obvious that the grandfather is truly lost, although the act of rebuilding the bridge is a symbolism for the rekindling the fire inside his heart. Although this is only the half point in the game, it is a humble reminder of where he originally came from and is the start of his next adventure. The final climb up to the lighthouse is an emotionally fueled moment where the grandfather had just overcome his most difficult obstacle. The final run up represents the final dash to reimbursement. Once at the top, all emotions are overwelhmed with pure joy as the grandfather finally finds Peanut and saves his family legacy. The ending of the game -- no, the ending of this beautiful story -- is the only the start of the beginning of the next truly wonderful journey. As the grandfather gives Peanut to his granddaughter he is passing the torch to her, continuing his family legacy across the generations.
In conclusion, the Lost Dachshund isn't just a game, it's a story of about a bond between grandfather, granddaughter, and --most importantly-- dachshund. I full heartedly expect this game to win game of the decade -- no, the generation-- as no other game has this level of storytelling, character development, and a puzzling gameplay loop.
I am greatly awaiting the future DLC and/or the sequel to the Lost Dachshund. For anyone who is still sceptikal about trying this masterpiece of a game, be ready for joy, laughter, distraught, betrayal, and finally tears.

tldr: YES if you like point and click style games, this is short and sweet, with challenges but doesn't feel like you CAN'T complete it. For a free game on steam, HIGHLY recommend this!
Point - and - Click games are my JAM: King's Quest, Hidden Object, Poco, Scratches, MYST...really any of them. This was cute, funny, had great narration and the hint of a story under the simple quest. You're granddaughter is getting a puppy from you for her birthday, a little dachshund named Peanut (still screaming over this, it's beyond adorable). The puppy has escaped, and is causing havoc all over the island. It's your job to not only chase after this adventurous puppy, but fix the messes she's made to advance. Along the way, Postman Pete narrates your adventure (way to go, VA!) and lets you know just how naughty this puppy is.
The game is short and sweet like I said, it didn't even take me a half hour to complete, but if you're unfamiliar or uncomfortable with other PaC style games, this is a great introduction. 11/10 will be playing again. Peanut, you're the love of my life and I'll lay down my sword for you. Postman Pete, watch your six - just saying.
