The GoD Unit is a first-person physics-based puzzle game set in a near pre-apocalyptic future.
Players must solve physical puzzles by manipulating the mass of special cubes in real time and combining this ability with other more conventional and familiar mechanics while progressing through the B-O-NYX Corporation testing facility and discovering the story of the protagonist and the unsettling lore of the world that is about to end.
Game features:
– Unique mechanics combinations that encourage out-of-the-box thinking;
– 42+ levels ranging from fairly simple to "I just want to lie down and cry" challenging;
– Scattered pieces of lore that reward the most attentive players; and
– Jokes that are hopefully funny to anyone besides the authors;

I have to say, I was sceptical in the beginning. Puzzles are something that I adore and lately the market was flooded with puzzle-like games and ads for pay-to-win trying to be the same.
I was pleasantly surprised. While there is a lot of minute details that remain to be polished, (no surprise, seeing how the team is emm.. well, it's a single person, really) the game is fresh and challenging, taxing your creativity and leaving you wanting to progress further through the levels just to see what else can the dev throw at you.
Long story short - if you like chess, if you enjoyed Portal, if you were fascinated by Rubic's cube as a kid, buy it and support your fellow nerd. If you, on the other hand, prefer FPS and Dota - steer clear, you are not the kind for this game anyway ))

4 hours in, this seems like a very solid game in the Portal genre. No actual portals, so it's not just a knock-off - different puzzle gimmick that works well to make interesting new puzzles with (so far) just the right level of difficulty - puzzling, but I haven't had to look up a solution to any yet, and several times I've had that fun feeling of "I don't think that's how I was supposed to do it" that's a sign of well designed physics puzzles (they don't force you into a narrow one-track solution, but the 'trick' solutions aren't easy to pull off - but then, nor are the expected solutions!)
Also nice so far is that none of the puzzles have required quick reactions or precision platforming. There's a little bit of "race against a timer" a few times, but it's not like you have to be super fast and precise, it's just a way of limiting the possible solutions (like you can't go and fetch something *and* jump through this hoop, because you only have time to do one of them).
The narrator-voice is funny in the same manner as in Portal, but again, also original enough.
If you liked Portal, I'd be surprised if you don't also like the GoD Unit.

Yes, the game is difficult enough, go play!
First of all, this game is a must-buy for puzzle lovers. If you like Portal and enjoy playing the community maps, don’t even wait for the Steam sales. For me, the game took about 28 hours to finish and as a disclaimer, I played only the hard mode and didn’t rush for 100%.
The game contains plenty of original ideas and does a great job at implementing them at puzzles. Some of the puzzles are pretty complicated in the sense of making you doubt yourself, but in the end, all of them are beatable. Dialogues are entertaining, and some levels are quite amusing.
However, it’s very frustrating that I have found some abuses (which may be the game feature but doubtfully not so) that helped me pass some of the levels too easily. Hopefully, they will be fixed in future patches. I guess having many new features in a game that relies on the difficulty mechanism can end up with such exploitations.
Having said that, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the game, because the allowances of the puzzle concepts are infinite. Sometimes I just ignored the map and played with the mechanics.
Looking forward to your next game, keep up the god work!

While looking like cheap Portal wannabe on a surface level, the gameplay and puzzle mechanics are more than solid and are holding up on its own against the best games in the puzzle genre. A must play for any fans of Portal or Talos Principle. Can provide to be actually quite challenging (in a good way) on harder difficulty.

Very good and difficult puzzles.
The humor can be a bit hit-and-miss (the game starts off with some unnecessary fat-jokes).
If you like physics-based puzzles i'd definitely recommend this

A really challenging physics-based puzzle game that seems to be inspired by games such as Portal, Quantum Conundrum and Rethink.
Do not expect a walk in the park while playing this. Solving this game puzzles requires perseverence and out of the box thinking. Be ready to have to spend more than one hour to solve some puzzles!
The game mechanics is based on manipulating cubes mass while introducing innovative gameplay while we progress.
Storywise, we play as an overweight billionaire who has to solve the different testing levels of a mysterious facility. The game has very good humor and as we progress through the game, we are guided by a funny commentary voice, while we uncover the game plot by reading the different documents we find as we play.
And for a ridiculously low selling price, the game offers lots of playtime content: 2 difficulty modes which gives a good replayability to the game as we wont solve a level the same way, and optional items to collect (cups and foxes) that will require good observation skills and extra brainstorming.
At the time I am writing this review, I am 20 hours in and I am at level 35 of the normal mode (there are 42+ levels), I found a few cups but no fox. The normal mode already offers a good challenge, I cannot imagine how difficult the hard mode will be...
If you are into challenging puzzle games, you should definitely get this!
