This is a casual day in the life of a wholesome kid with a vivid imagination.
He fancies himself as Captain Spirit and goes on adventures around the house!
Seemingly superficial, the game tackles heavy issues like family loss, substance abuse, and even domestic violence (intentional or otherwise).
It does all this with a velvet touch that keeps things innocent for younger players while mature gamers will immediately recognize how deep things go.
The graphics are sharp and pleasant to look at.
The soundtracks that you can play using a record player are actually invigorating and dreamy, the sort of feel-good songs that comfort you.
The soundtracks that play at key cut scenes are so, so good, you'd want to keep listening to them on a loop.
The voice acting, especially of the kid, Chris, is very well done. Kudos to everyone involved. This really might be the most authentic voice acting of someone that young I have ever witnessed in any media.
The gameplay is simple and fun. It does have a few puzzles that you need to guess their answer, like a certain padlock of someone. You think to yourself, Maybe he'll use a number close to his heart, and you need to have looked around the house to find what that might be. That's just an example!
The game is tied to Life Is Strange 2, whose protagonists, Daniel and Sean, may or may not appear at some point and meet our very own Captain Spirit!
I highly recommend playing this game - even if you're not into the Life Is Strange storylines.
It's short and very sweet.
