Fight through a world destroyed by Dr. Eggman and a powerful new villain in Sonic Forces, the new fast-paced action platformer from the team that brought you Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Sonic Forces lets you speed through rolling ruined landscapes as Modern Sonic, catapult past perilous platforms as Classic Sonic, and use powerful new gadgets as your own Custom Hero Character.

Steps to enjoy:
1. Don't buy at full price. Buy on sale. I bought for $10
2. Don't play the base game unmodded, that's why the reviews for this game are mixed
3. Download Hedgemodmanager
4. Download Sonic Forces Reimagined and Classic Sonic Improvement mods from Gamebanana
5. Enjoy a much better version of the base game. Has roughly 30+ stages total
6. After you finish the base game, disable both of those previous mods and download Sonic Forces Overclocked
7. Enjoy a very nice epilogue for the game. Has 8 stages total

Sonic Forces Overclocked. For real though, this game has a lot of missed potential. I beat it on Xbox on launch. It has some redeeming qualities but it's so mediocre. Thank God Frontiers was good.

--THIS IS NOT A REVIEW FOR BASE SONIC FORCES--
Sonic Forces Overclocked is a FREE fan mod that adds in a new story that takes place shortly after the original game's conclusion. For a fan project trying to build off a deeply flawed game, it's really impressive, complete with full voice acting, new cutscenes, new music, new avatar pieces, and revamped level design that really should have been the standard of the base game. The levels are really impressive, featuring lots of alternate routes that can take you to completely different places each time you play, making trying to collect everything and get the best times a blast.
My only real complaints are that due to it being a mod, there are absolutely some bugs and some jank, and honestly even at its best it's still not really amazing due to it being a Forces mod. You can only really add so much to fix a fundamentally flawed game. And while I understand it's a free fan project, it did catch me off guard with how quickly it ended. One to three more stages would have helped sate my appetite better, but having your own fan mod be half the length of the game your modding is still impressive.
If you can catch Sonic Forces for cheap or already own and played through it (and would like to get closer to actually getting your money's worth), I'd say maybe look into it for the sake of playing through this mod. Base game is still absolute bland slop though.
