ReCore: Definitive Edition set in post-apocalypse world that name Far Eden. Joule as the female protagonist of this game accompanied by a robot dog, Mack. She's just wake up from cyro-sleep and realized she was the only human in this planet when surrounded by robot that being rouge.
For basic combat gameplay, recore focused on third person shooter that player can aim (or auto) with movement like dash or double jump. In her journey, Joule can find another companion beside Mack. Seth, a robot spider and Duncan, a robot gorilla. In later game, Joule's companion (Mack, Seth and Duncan) just a corebot. A corebot can be installed onto another robot frame. In a simple word, a robot dog can be Mack, Seth or Duncan. Same as spider or gorilla.
For main task, just remember a classic game like Spyro that you must collect so many item that spread across the map in order to progress the game or just being a collectible item, that was the core of this game. And that repetitive chore must be completed if you want to get all the achievement in this game. So, despite of repetitive gameplay. This game has appeal to maintain a good 3D platforming gameplay that set in a open world map that connect with hub and has element of metroidvania that must be backtracked to collect the item after get some upgrade or new power.
So, this game can be hit or miss. If you like a classic gameplay that must collect item around the map, you will like this game. For me, this game has a solid 6/10 score. Not a bad game, and not a good one too.

TL:DR I would rate the game 8/10, the actual current rating it has on Steam is baffling to me. Please watch a Youtube review or metacritics before deciding to buy as it might be that people who don't enjoy action-adventure/platformers bought this game by mistake.
I really don't know why this game has so bad reviews...
It definitely isn't for everyone, but somehow I feel like it attracts wrong type of audience. The game is very well designed action-adventure/platformer. When outside of dungeons the levels are designed in the openworld manner. Aesthetics are really appealing and the art direction feels really nice.
Every single object in game has collision that is almost perfect. I don't remember when was the last time that a game didn't block me with invisible walls, but this is one of them. The illusion of open world in this game is so well done to the point that it reminds me how actual open world has become burden to the modern games and instead adopts more a Metroidvania style of world design.
As for the story it definitely leaves something to be desired... but not in a bad way. Almost everything is very cliche but it serves as a glue for the crisp mechanics. Story isn't bad or good, it is functional for the purpose of the game delivering fun gameplay and level design without too much story depth, but just enough that it feels immersive.
I would rate this game with 8/10, there are some stuff that feel repetitive but that never lasted for a long time... unless you count shooting in action game and platforming in platforming game.

This game is extremely fun, and definitely an underrated gem, which is surprising considering reviews at the time seemed to be mixed at best, definitely worth checking out, although the optimisation seems to be lacking in places with loading screens hanging in excess of 5 mins, whilst loading off of an ssd, so might need to tweak the settings a bit, unless if you're using current hardware.

Seems like a solid action adventure console style game. Feels a bit retro with the collectathon mechanics... the maps are full of stuff to collect if you actively search for them and you can upgrade your robot dog and other bots you can collect from what I can tell so far.
Worth checking out on sale. I'll add more when I get to playing it more. Maybe :)
