Human Resource Machine
Update: now includes the official soundtrack
Program little office workers to solve puzzles. Be a good employee! The machines are coming… for your job.
Human Resource Machine is a puzzle game for nerds. In each level, your boss gives you a job. Automate it by programming your little office worker. If you succeed, you’ll be promoted up to the next level for another year of work in the vast office building. Congratulations!
Don’t worry if you’ve never programmed before – programming is just puzzle solving. If you strip away all the 1’s and 0’s and scary squiggly brackets, programming is actually really simple, logical, beautiful, and something that anyone can understand and have fun with! Are you already an expert? There will be extra challenges for you.
From the creators of World of Goo and Little Inferno. Have fun! Management is watching.

Recommended but with a warning.
The game is good, I think it does a good job simplifying assembly language to the point where anyone can jump into the game and I think most of the puzzles are simple yet clever.
However, there are some puzzles that are not only hard to grasp algorithms, but also have some really high size/performance requirements. These puzzles are optional but one does not usually jump into these kind of games to leave some puzzles out, programmers like torturing themselves, so just be warned and balance your ego vs your enjoyment.

I love this game because it challenges the brain in a fun way. I hate this game because I am stupid.

Accurately portrays what it´s like to do programming to such an extent that I nearly got a burnout

As a seasoned programmer I enjoyed learning this visual assembly language. the storyline is cute too. but as the challenges got sufficiently complex (think bubble sort) I started to wish for text based input. the visual flow control takes up so much screen real estate, and the comments are limited to what you can scribble with your fingertip. Still, it's a fun time and enjoyable until near the end.

It's amazing how an engaging interface can make people enjoy writing a variant of assembly code. Optimizing for speed and size has never been so fun. Can't wait for Tomorrow Corp's next game!

Human Resource Machine is game where you have to solve various computer programming type of puzzles by using various types of programming to generate the code. The puzzles first start off easy but the difficulty quickly ramps up and starts to feel tedious. I admit I had to use a guide for some tips to help me get past some of the later puzzles. If you're look to learn how to code or looking for a coding type of challenge then this is your game, otherwise most people will find this game not fun at all.
