Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure
A comedy cosmic horror adventure made in Transylvania. Darkham, with its crooked gambrel roofs, dark alleys, and a past shrouded in secrecy, never really was a welcoming place, but nowadays? Kooky cults are popping up everywhere, and that most evil book, the Necronomicon, is spoken of in trembling whispers once more. Detective Don R. Ketype is on the case to retrieve the mysterious evil tome, but unsuspecting librarian Buzz Kerwan stumbles upon it and accidentally transforms his cat, Kitteh, into a walking, talking abomination. Being humanized? Quite a downgrade. Gibbous is a comedy cosmic horror game – a modern adventure that is classically inspired, features gorgeous HD art, detailed traditional animation, and a lengthy story that will see the three protagonists travel around the world and deal with abominations both cosmic and human-made, voodoo, and Things That Should Not Be. From Lovecraft Country to Transylvania, set off on a quest to get a very cynical cat to stop talking.

cons
❌ the Lovecraft-inspired story is convoluted and hard to follow. unfortunately, these negatives make the story boring and unengaging
❌ cat character's voice acting could be irritating for some people.
❌ a hint system for some obscure puzzles and general progress would be really helpful.
❌ there are way too many exhausting, unnecessary and lengthy dialogues with irrelevant side characters
❌ characters slow animations
❌ some backgrounds are too dark, and that's making it hard to see some details
❌ the cliffhanger ending feels a little bit rushed and unsatisfying. Will there be a sequel to this game anyway?
Overall, this is the kind of game for which I wish Steam had a neutral button on reviews because the convoluted, unfocused, and incoherent story made the game boring for me, but at the same time, this is a well-made, polished, and decent point-and-click graphic adventure game, so I don't want to give a negative note to this game. Therefore, I give a tentative thumbs up to this game.

I'm not a big fan of point & click adventures and this game couldn't change my mind, but in the end Gibbous was a short entertaining "Cathulhu" game with funny dialogs, interesting puzzles, a great graphic design, Disney-style animations and a talking cat. A slightly different approach to the Cthulhu mythos.

It is a nice, very well made point and click game but there is too much talking in it in my opinion and the story got really confusing in the end. Still enjoyed my time with it however.

I wasn't expecting much when I bought this, but wow! I love it so much! Definitely a game that stands out as very different and it's so much fun. I love how the game is laid out and the colors and graphics are awesome! I wish the cat was a boy thought not a girl.

Thumbs up for point and click fans, if you aren't, then the style of game and humour might not be for you. Definitely re-playable, which is good, because unlike other reviewers, I did miss quite a few achievements the first play through! I played some scenes more than twice, finally with a walk through guide to get the achievements I missed the first few times :)

Really fun point and click game. Love the graphics, so colorful. Not super challenging, but I enjoy that, Don't ever have to turn to the walkthrough for help. Cool story too. I don't love some of the voice actors they chose but I've gotten over that as the rest of the game is really entertaining.

This was my first point and click game and I liked it. I’m dumb so I had to use a guide in parts but still enjoyed it.
