The game that started it all
I used to play this game on my iPhone in 2010 and seeing it on PC, it brought back a lot of memories and I only bought it out of nostalgia.
DO NOT EXPECT an incredible level of simulation, with deep meaningful choices that brings world-shattering results.
It's a mobile game and the delivered package in 2022/2023 is the same game from 2010. There are no improvements.
Why do I recommend it? It was one of the best games in the App Store at a time where there were only very simple games (Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, etc...), you could spend hours with it and it was worth every cents of your local currency (I also loved the mall game).
It didn't age well and playing on the PC was more of a chore than a pleasure, but I still grin at the silly names and interesting word plays that the devs came up with. It oozes that "play one more turn" sense of comfort with that repeating simple music.
The concept of the game is very easy, keep making games until you get better devs, fire the bad ones, train the best ones aka develop the developers (sic), keep churning out games, select the platforms (consoles), rinse and repeat.
As time goes by, your people will be inevitably better and bring more revenue which will be used to keep hiring better developers to make better game that brings even more revenue and it goes on for a long time.
New consoles are also presented so that you can switch and develop on a more costly one but with more units sold which means more potential customers.
Some gimmick can be used as one-off boosts or advertisements but they aren't very impressive unless you go for a speed run, I guess.
There is no difficulty unless you just go crazy, it's a game where going slowly and steady, you will get there and "win" it.
In conclusion, I recommend this game on sale (otherwise I do feel it's a bit expensive) and with the dangerous caution sign that it might entice you or bore you in less than 1 hour (but it can also get boring after 5 hours when you dominate the gaming world and can't fail anymore).

When your every game is the top-selling game and wins every nomination, but you didn't win the Game of the Year!
My company literally has 25 billion in the bank, and I can't pay for the Game of the Year award like Marvel did in Goty 2022 to win. Too bad Goty in real life is not honest as this game.

About
Description
Gᴀᴍᴇᴘʟᴀʏ
In terms of gameplay, there isn't much difference from the mobile version, and there haven't been any significant quality-of-life improvements. The reason I bought it on Steam, despite having the original game on my phone, is that I'm not really into mobile gaming. It's interesting to note that even the last Game of the Year (Goty) winner is a game that not many people have played.
So, it's essentially a game development tycoon game, a genre where indie game developers often sell more copies than AAA companies because the prices are more affordable. It's a straightforward game where you run a game development office, although in this case, you already have money and a building, unlike the stereotypical American basement setup. Why? Well, because you're basically from a wealthy family. One thing I appreciate is how this game is influenced by Japanese game development, taking into account factors like console updates, the current market, and which consoles to develop games for to turn a profit. It's quite accurate, especially considering Sega's historical struggles. So, gameplay-wise, it's a solid 10/10.
Gʀᴀᴘʜɪᴄ
Pixel graphics, which I don't have any issues with, unlike many people who grew up with PlayStation and have been spoiled. The art in this game looks polished, and, of course, you have the Kairosoft color palette, giving you bright art.
Mᴜʟᴛɪᴘʟᴀʏᴇʀ
No multiplayer. I would love to see our company and bank account visible on a friend leaderboard or something. Come on, Kairosoft, why do Japanese developers never understand?
Cᴏɴᴛʀᴏʟ
The gamepad controls are weird, and the UI is just an image on your screen. It's better to play this game with a mouse and keyboard.
Pʟᴀʏᴛɪᴍᴇ
7 hours to 23 hours, depending on your decision. I'm literally making so much money that my game dev keep make good decission without option of DLC and my company has become more successful than EA, Electronic Arts, or any of your buggy and unpolished game publishers.
Sᴛᴏʀʏ
You're a Japanese game developer keeping an eye on console releases. I've played it for so long that the PC market is still struggling, even after a couple of years in-game development. Is this Japanese propaganda? Who tf still plays on PlayStation and Nintendo these days?

Game Optimization
The framerate is capped at 20 FPS, and sometimes it feels off. So, I guess it's due to poor optimization. or they didn't want to their game run like politician move out a country after making the economy fail.

Verdict
Most common laziest indie dev from japan, that has been making thousand from google play ads.
Bᴜɢ
• The controls suck.
• Accidental clicks are common.
• Random events occur without any option to prevent them.
• It's a mobile port, but hey, at least it costs less than Chrono Trigger.
• The PC platform doesn't have a large share or player base (the design is very Japanese).
DLC
Thank fully, Mobile cant have this DLC due performance and storage issue so please no.

Well, from the developer and the art, you might already be familiar with this game. It's essentially an older game that was initially released on mobile devices. The developers seemed quite need money, and eventually, they decided to release it on Steam, even though they had to give up a significant portion of the revenue to Steam (30% cut), so you know what you got. Rememeber no QOL.
Rᴇᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴅᴇᴅ?
