Full Metal Furies
From the creators of Rogue Legacy comes a "true-cooperative" action RPG. FULL METAL FURIES puts an emphasis on team play with a unique combat system where everyone is important. Work together to defeat special enemies, string organics combos to deal massive damage, and save a wartorn world that is battling itself to extinction. Play on the couch or online with friends, and make it a party for up to four players! Or go solo in single-player, and show off your skills through a Pick 2 quick-switch system that retains all the nuances of multi-play. True coordination is needed to take down your foes. Enemies enter the battlefield with coloured barriers, and only allies of a similar colour can shatter them. You must revive your fallen allies. Barriers won’t break themselves! Revive bars naturally raise over time, but a helping hand never hurts.

Just want to mention this runs 100% fine on Steam Deck, despite the Unverified status at time of writing. No problems encountered so far.

This game is such a hidden gem, even among indie games. The puzzles were creative and challenging, the humor consistently gave my friends and I a chuckle, even as college grads, and it has a great balance of simple game features that challenge your mastery of mechanics and teamwork, even until the end.
100% recommend, even though this game came out years ago, its still great with friends.
I also 100% recommend doing funny-different voices with each of the characters, as it really adds some personalized personality to your experience of the game. Was a blast for us.

A horribly underrated game completely missed by most people. A very fun coop beat em up with a TON of unique puzzles. I played this on release and I loved it. It can be very difficult at times as well.

Half brawler, half puzzle game. Surprisingly this fusion works really well, as puzzles are inventive and fun to crack. Brawler part is okay, but I was actually more excited about clues, secrets and riddles. Some people have a problem with colored shields (enemies are immune until a certain character attacks them), but it was completely fine for me (we played 3p).

I played this initially about a year after launch with a friend, and we had a great time then. Loved the gameplay, loved the focus on puzzles, filling my screenshot folder with clues and drawing out hints, and posting theories in our voice chat channel while getting absolutely dogged on by some secret bosses. Left it satisfied.
Rogue Legacy 2 came out not long ago, and its incredible. Truly a fantastic sequel and worthy of their gameography, had a lovely time. but coming back to this game just today, I'm really surprised to say that I think this is better, to me. I find FMF to be so fresh in today's game space, the co-op focus so delightful, the mechanical overlap between characters so fun. The amount we cheer as we get air crits from one another is a true joy.
Reading that old Destructoid interview is sobering on how the game was a failure, due to some networking issues and just marketing problems. It all makes sense, but its heartwrenching, because I would have adored more of this from these guys. I know a review like this probably wouldn't make it to their eyes, and I don't expect it to change minds; Its a business decision, after all. But I do just want to say that this is my favorite Cellar Door game by a mile. The dev team did great, and I'm hungry for more. Thank you for the incredible experience.

It's really good. Funny and difficult in a good way. Lots of depth

this is a good game, the only unfun mechanic is the colored shield. If this was removed the game would be so much better.
