Flooded
SURVIVE THE FLOODMost likely due to global warming, the waters have risen to a level leaving only a handful of places habitable. As a small group of survivors, you need to extract resources in order to build an ark and move to a safer place. But beware, with time the waters are getting higher, leaving you with less land to use!
MANAGE YOUR PROUCTION
Use different buildings to excavate precious resources. Upgrade them in order to maximize the production speed, find relics that will boost your performance and develop new technologies which will allow you to keep up the production rate on a smaller area.
DEFEND THE ISLAND
Turns out you’re not alone in this hostile environment. Other survivors have settled on nearby islands and they will take every chance to plunder your land. Build various defensive towers and traps to keep your miners safe.
EXPLORE DIVERSE ISLANDS
Once your island plunges into the ocean, you will need to find a new piece of land. Make sure you gather enough resources in time to build an arc and explore the unknown waters. Beware, you will encounter different biomes, each with their own set of characteristics!
UNCOVER THE STORY
With global warming being the one of the main issues of today’s society, it seems to be the easiest explanation of the worldwide flood. But is it really the reason why you are trapped on an island, fighting for survival and trying to reach the tallest mountain? Play the story mode to find out!
ROGUE-LITE RTS
While Flooded will be story-driven, it will also offer more challenging modes. With Quickplay and Fusion we will introduce a rogue-lite twist to pure resource management. Choose your commander, each with their own skills, and try to survive as long as possible on procedurally generated islands. With time, your commanders will level up and you will discover new relics and technologies, which will extend your play time.

Okay so while this game might not look like much because of its pixelated graphics. That's actually a good thing.
This game is legit. I can't sing it's praises enough.
Is it next gen? Nah
Is it something you can't miss? Nah.
But you would still be doing yourself a disservice by not checking it out.
You're island shrinks slowly but surely and you needed to accomplish enough objectives so you can move on to the next island, rinse and repeat. Now while it sounds simple and hell...the gameplay is pretty simple for the most part. The game is so well made that I can't get mad at it.
It's addictive, it's engaging, it's mysterious, it's challenging (But in a good way) and overall it's just really fun.
Probably 6-12 hours of gameplay here (depending on how much you wanna play or accomplish) and for 13 dollars, this kind of gameplay and stability it's a great offer.
I Highly recommend this game and even if this isn't normally your type of game I'd still recommend you check it out.
It's a resource gathering, upgrade buildings and build up defenses against pirates kinda game. It plays really well, has a decent tutorial and a decent story with everything else about this game being almost perfect for what kind of game it is.
But if that still wasn't enough then please check out the video on my YouTube channel (link below) for a more in depth look at the game.
Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there to spend your money wisely.

I just finished my first playthrough - saw the first 4 levels of the campaign (out of the 12 total) and 2 biomes (out of 6). What I really like about this game is the aesthetics and the unique gamplay idea. Each island you're on gets gradually flooded, which means that you have less space to build and need to be smart about building placement. Biomes have different features, so you have to adjust your strategy to individual conditions. You also get different commanders and relics (items) that help you with the challenge. The screen may sometimes get crowded and with many buildings on the island you may need to pay extra attention when moving around, but other than that it's a really fun an enjoyable game! Also, there are 2 modes other than campaign available, but I haven't tried them yet.

Played 2,5 hours straight.
Its really fun and interesting.
Im at the story right now.
You basically do "engine" building. Which means investing resources for buildings to generate resources faster.
Thats necessary, to basically outbuild the waterflow, as your goal is to develop faster than the water can kill you.
The gameplay is the star here.
What does it offer:
- Economy building
- Disasters
- Random Maps
- Pirate Attacks and Towers to defend from it
- Upgrades and randomized Perks you gain for research
- Several Builders with their own perks and abilities
- Unique Equipement you can unlock and select, which acts basically as a unique perk
- Several layers of construction including underground, in water and on artificial platforms.
- A solid story mode
- A Quickplay (Skirmish) Mode
- An Endless Mode
- Challenges in Story Mode
- Weather Conditions on your map affecting gameplay
- A solid soundtrack
- Active Pause
(Solid: Means its fine but not exceptional. Enjoyable and supporting the experience, but not its strongest point.)
Sidenote Recommendation:
If you like gameplay like this, you should check out T-Minus 30. Similar premise, the planet is dead and will get destroyed, you have to build an economy and shoot as many people into space as possible.
Flooded is very similar to T-Minus 30. Here its ships, there its rockets.

So far it's good. The flooding mechanic is very interesting and refreshing. It took me a while to understand that building more houses to get more civilians gives you more resources, I had to lose a couple of times before figuring it out. The build up of new mechanic is interesting.
So far my biggest downside is that you can't save in the middle of a game, forcing you to either quit or leave the game open. It can sometime be hard to be stuck in a game for 30 min and the "gem" rewarded for how well you did in a game is a bit critic and feel kind of random.
Still worth my while, but a save a feature would make this game go from good to great.

Cool small tactical game. Graphics, sound and story are basic, but you're getting this for the gameplay which is very good. Furthermore, the game is polished and games generally take up to 30 minutes. Depending on the type of player you are it will provide 10-20 hours of game time.

I had a chance to play a pre-release version of the game before and now I've tried the 1.0. I loved every bit of it!
I'm not good at reviewing games, so I'll keep it simple:
PROS
+ unique mechanic of a shrinking island
+ nice graphics (although maybe not everyone's cup of tea)
+ good value for money (story mode + skirmish + endless)
+ addictive gameplay
+ clear tutorial
CONS
- sometimes it may be difficult to tell some buildings apart (especially when they're the same type, next to each other, but on different levels)
- sometimes ships don't move the way you'd expect them to
Overall, it's a solid indie game that delivers its premise and, despite minor flaws, is really fun to play.

This is just a really good game. I wish there were more of these. Some people are put off by the simple graphics, but they really work for this game. If you like strategy, city-building games, or games like FTL/Into the Breach then I think you will like this.
