Etherborn is an elegant leap in the gravity-puzzle genre an environmental puzzle platformer built on exploring and understanding gravity-shifting structures. You are a voiceless being that has just been born into a world where a bodiless voice awaits your arrival. As your first thoughts emerge, you realise your journey has just begun. You experience gravity perpendicular to the surface you are standing on, allowing for creative exploration possibilities in environments carefully crafted as navigation-based puzzles. Travel through beautiful and exotic sceneries where each level is an organic puzzle that you need to explore, manipulate and shift your gravity on in order to decipher the way forward.

Etherborn: A Gravity-Defying Puzzler
Etherborn is a wonderful game and it is indeed visually striking. However, it's not just a pretty face; it's a captivating puzzle game that avoids the usual pitfalls of overly artsy platformers.
You play as a silhouette with a visible nervous system, on a quest for something significant, I think. Frankly, I wasn't invested in the plot's complexity. Cutscenes feature a shifting celestial spectacle as a woman narrates an abstract tale. It's okay; my disconnection from the narrative didn't hinder my enjoyment of Etherborn.
Gameplay involves standard 3D running and jumping, but with a twist: gravity shifts when you hit a sloped corner. It's not groundbreaking, but it's executed brilliantly, challenging you to think differently about the world's geometry and physics.
Etherborn is primarily a puzzle game. Each level is a vast, slightly eerie structure floating in a surreal void. You collect glowing crystals to unlock more of the level. The puzzles aren't brain-benders; they're about training your brain to navigate slopes, jumps, and protrusions. The difficulty is fair, and any frustration is self-inflicted.
You intuitively figure out paths, making solutions tantalizingly within reach. Etherborn offers meticulously crafted levels rather than many tiny ones. The unobtrusive narrative adds to the visual delight, and the color scheme changes with each level.
The music and visuals create awe-inspiring moments. Etherborn isn't lengthy, but it's a beautiful game worth your time.
