Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest

It is (mostly) fun tactical RPG that unfortunately is short of being great because of several design decisions. The audio-visual setting has a charm to it but I've honestly lost a track of the story about midway through the game. Poor writing and sudden lore-exposions in forms of 20+ speech-bubbles, combined with lack of voice acting make for quite forgettable lore. In the game you have a set party of 3-4 characters and ~35 missions/challenges that can be replayed at any time from the world map. Don't expect a Divinty: Original Sin or XCOM type of combat, the actual gameplay is closer to a puzzle solving more than anything.
In most cases the enemies will spawn infinitely, so you have to fullfil the mission's objective as soon as possible as most of your character's abilities are limited to several uses per mission. You'll also have to replay some of the previously completed missions to get more gold for gear and XP to level up as eventually the main story missions become extremely difficult and every "+1 damage" will matter. You also can't save the game in the middle of a mission (progress will save when you quit so you can continue later), meaning that a single miss-click or mistake might force you to restart the mission from the beginning.
In terms of performance the game runs fine but it did crash twice for me when I've Alt+Tab'ed to a different monitor, I thought it was worth noting. Overall I would give the game a 6 on a 1-10 scale, it is not a bad game, but it could have been much better with few simple changes, at least in my opinion. I also suggest waiting on a sale, it goes on -75% discount every now and then.

More of a puzzle game than a turn based RPG. The art and character abilities are great but there are so many random events, spawns and powers that you end up restarting levels quite a bit. It would have been cool to have more pure combats and leveling but overall still a good game.

Its the game I have been looking for, small curated tactical puzzles with no luck and no randomization. No extra garbage wasting your time, stays clearly in its lane.
Graphics are gorgeous and the animations are truly incredible.
The music is better then what you would expect and the sound FX are great.
Game-play is similar to Mario vs Rabbids with a dash of Gloomhaven.
If it looks interesting to you, I promise its worth it.

This is a fun little turn based fantasy tactical game. The story is ok, gets a bit confusing near the end, but the levels are fun. I'll admit - I had to turn the difficulty down a few times and google some puzzle answers. This game can be quite challenging! But it was a fun and charming time.
Strong recommend, 8/10 for me, I really enjoyed it.
